[W:89: 591]Swedish Police Officer: 'Muslim Countries Provide Most Criminals in Sweden' [W:89]

Seems that conflict between Eritrean regime supporters and their opponents, cause the attack at the cultural festival. According to the Sweden media, the festival “has been criticized for allegedly serving as a promotional tool and source of money for the African nation’s government.” Human rights describe Eritrea as one of the world’s most repressive countries.
I am getting the impression from your posts that you have some issues regarding immigration. What’s your beef? You do realize, don’t you, that it’s been going on for thousands of years, since Exodus at least. Obviously the people of Jericho should have hired Donald Trump to build their walls.

It could soon be mandatory to report the irregular stay of migrants in Sweden, according to a proposal being prepared by the Swedish coalition and its far-right ally, which also plans to tighten internal immigration controls with random checks and DNA tests.

At a press conference on Thursday, Swedish Migration Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard, together with representatives of her coalition partners and the far-right Sweden Democrats, which support the government, announced their intention to crack down on the thousands of irregular migrants currently on Swedish territory.

“The proposal for mandatory reporting of illegals in the public sector can counteract the shadow society,” she announced from the get-go.

According to her, 100,000 people may be staying in Sweden illegally today. However, the figure has not been confirmed by another source.

An ongoing investigation is now tasked with reviewing whether Swedish municipalities and authorities should be obliged to inform the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket) and the police when they come into contact with people who are staying in Sweden without authorisation.
The propose law seems very sensible. It is important to know the number of illegals and where they come from, in order to return them to their country of origin when is possible.

Sweden hit by ‘unprecedented’ levels of gang violence | Sweden | The Guardian

Police chief says citizens are afraid after wave of murders and explosions

Gang wars have brought an “unprecedented” wave of violence to Sweden, the national police chief has said, after a week of fatal shootings.

Sweden has for several years been in the grip of a conflict between gangs fighting over arms and drug trafficking, involving firearms and explosive devices.

“There have recently been after on an unprecedented scale,” police chief Anders Thornberg told a press conference on Wednesday. “Several boys aged between 13 and 15 have been killed, the mother of a criminal was executed at home, and a young man in Uppsala was shot dead on his way to work,” he added.

The police chief said the perpetrators were often from abroad, but did not mention any nationalities.

Increase gang violence is one good reason to keep track of illegals in the country. The tightening of laws is a right step to fight gang-related crime.

Important issue, certainly, the gang violence and immigration in Sweden. My issue is that I think sometimes these things are confused in a way that "because in Sweden the immigration issue needs to be changed to a certain direction, it needs to be changed same way in US too", or "because US has immigration problems of a certain sort, Sweden ought to concentrate on same problems in the country too". The countries are of course very different, so no such conclusion ought to be made at least not so easily. I think one of the main reasons behind the troubles in Sweden is the assumption that "it is not possible for blacks to be racists towards whites", which relies either on the racist assumption that whites/white culture is so inherently superior that it not possible for others to hate/despise/loath it", or the other way racism, the assumption that immigrants from non European nations are inherently so innocent they are not capable of racism. The result is immigration violence was overlooked and ignored for decades, giving it ample room to grow, until the situation came to what it is today. Immigrant violence ought to have been dealed from the begin the same way far right violence by white people would have been dealed with. Also on consequence, when immigrant's are treated like that is the really important positions in society are reserved for white folk, because, well, it is not logical to think that people who need to be sheltered and protected and are not fully responsible of their own actions would make good stuff for, say, prime minister or president or top positions in big companies. Comparatively, US recently had a black president. Also, it may be that the welfare state in Nordic countries kind of "work too well", if such a thing is possible, and that makes some people naive to foreign people wanting to exploit them - I think the gang violence has some such examples.
I don't think similar things are much of a problem in US. Rather it seems to me that the troubles are rather the opposite. For example, being too eager to expect bad things from foreign people is largely what result to Iraq war in US. US recently had a black president, which shows a healthy character in the country. Oth, I don't ever remember things like that incident in US of a white neighbor shooting a black teenager through the door because he had misremembered his friend's address happening here in Finland, and don't think has happened in Sweden either. Also, I think very few democrats in US share the notion that it would not be possible for black people or immigrants to commit racially motivated violence or other hate crimies towards white people. The countries are very different.

STOCKHOLM, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Sweden's prime minister summoned the head of the armed forces and the police commissioner in a bid to stem gang violence, he said on Thursday, following a wave of violence that has taken at least 11 lives in September alone.

Two people were killed in separate shootings in Stockholm on Wednesday, and a woman in her 20s, thought to be an innocent bystander, was killed when a bomb tore up a house in Uppsala in the early hours of Thursday.

"This is a difficult time for Sweden. A 25-year-old woman went to bed last night on a completely ordinary evening but never got to wake up," Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said during a rare televised address to the nation.

"We will hunt the gangs, we will defeat the gangs," he said.

Kristersson formed a centre-right minority government after last year's election with support of the populist and anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats, ending eight years of Social Democrat-led governments in Sweden.

His coalition won the election partly on a promise to stem growing gang violence, and it has launched a series of initiatives, such as greater powers to police and harsher punishment for gun crimes.

The government initiative to give greater powers to police with help from the military and longer sentences to gang criminals to stop the increase of gang violence, when implemented will stem gang violence.

A deadly wave of gun crime across Sweden has prompted the country’s second biggest political party, the nationalist Sweden Democrats, to demand military boots on the ground to stem the violence.

“We need to get things in place earlier than planned, because this is getting completely out of hand,” party leader Jimmie Akesson said in an interview at his office opposite Sweden’s parliament building in Stockholm.

He called the series of armed assaults and bombings that claimed 12 lives last month alone “a systemic threat” for Swedish society as a whole. “What we see in the form of shootings is really only the tip of the iceberg,” he said.

In recent months the intensity of violence between criminal gangs has escalated from levels that were already shockingly high. Even before September’s grim tally, the number of gun killings per capita in Sweden was about 10 times higher than in the U.K. In a rare televised address to the nation at the end of last month, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson promised to crack down on crime and talked about expanding cooperation between the armed forces and the police.

Aaccording to Sweden official police statistics, about 42 people have died in 290 shootings in Sweden this year, due to “surge in violence is related to a feud between rival factions of criminal gangs led from abroad.”. Based in these statistics, looks that Akesson recommendation to “give police the authority to detain people who aren’t suspected of a specific offense, as well as putting military on the streets of Sweden’s so-called vulnerable areas”, will help to reduce the surge in violence.

COPENHAGEN, Oct 31 (Reuters) - The Nordic governments intend to step up their cooperation to return immigrants without legal residence in the region to their countries of origin, ministers from the five countries said in a joint press conference in Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Denmark, which aims to only accept refugees under the UN's quota system, has drawn strong criticism from the United Nations and human rights groups alike as its immigration policies have toughened over the past decade.

However, the Danish model has become more popular as anti-immigration voices have gained traction across the Nordic region.

The Swedish government is looking towards Danish immigration policies as the country battles gang violence caused by "an irresponsible immigration policy and a failed integration," Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said last month.

The UN is comprise by 193 states. The UN and human rights groups shall look among many of the other countries to accept refugees under the UN's quota system too. After all, the Nordic countries have been very generous in accepting refugees through many years, mainly Sweden. It is very good that the Nordic countries are cooperating in the return of illegal migrants to their country of origin. In union there is strength

BRUSSELS, 7. NOV, 23:51

Sweden has called for an EU immigration crackdown to stop terrorism, with a right-wing slant on Muslims that risks sharpening division.

EU ministers should discuss in December how to prevent attacks such as the killing of two Swedish football fans by an Islamist extremist in Brussels on 16 October, the Swedish government said in a letter on Tuesday (7 November).

"Recently, we have once again seen the ugly face of terrorism show itself in the heart of Europe, when three Swedish citizens were gunned down [the third victim was injured] during a football match in Brussels, merely for being Swedish," Sweden's justice and migration ministers, Gunnar Strömmer and Maria Malmer Stenergard, said.

A 45-year old Tunisian, Abdessalem Lassoued, entered the EU via Italy in 2011 and lived in Sweden and Belgium before carrying out the lethal shooting.

Certainly. the threat of terrorism justify Muslims migration crackdown. Their risk of terrorism is high. Hopefully, EU countries will cooperate to find ways to diminish the thread of terrorism by migrants.

Why does a country once regarded as a model of moderation and progressiveness now have the highest level of gun violence in Europe?

Immigration has transformed Swedish society and politics over the past two decades. The scale of demographic change has had societal and political consequences that were not anticipated by politicians and commentators who advocated relaxed controls.

A few notable figures allow us to get an idea of the upheaval in question. Today one in five Swedes — two million people out of a population of around ten million — was born abroad. Almost one in four Swedes was born abroad or has two foreign parents. And if we count those with at least one parent born abroad, that is a third of all Swedes. The numbers rise even higher in the large cities and among people of childbearing age.

According to the article, “two million people out of a population of around ten million — was born abroad.“ Immigration from the Middle East and Africa account for about half of new immigrants. In 1960, only a few thousand people in Sweden were from Africa and the Middle East. Now, there are more than a million. The consequence of this immigration is a rapidly increase in crime from gang war and criminal groups that threaten basic Swedish values.

During the 2015 migration crisis, the Social Democrat leaders payed no attention to the link between the size of the migratory flow and growing gang violence. Sweden Democrats have been implementing measures to reverse the trend. Hopefully, these measures will reverse the trend.

Sweden’s migration policy is undergoing a paradigm shift. The Government is intensifying its efforts to reduce, in full compliance with Sweden’s international commitments, the number of migrants coming irregularly to Sweden. Labour immigration fraud and abuses must be stopped and the ‘shadow society’ combated. Sweden will continue to have dignified reception standards, and those who have no grounds for protection or other legal right to stay in Sweden must be expelled.

Sweden is in the right path to reduce the number of migrants coming “irregularly”, mostly from Africa and the Middle East that threatening Swedish values. At the same time crackdown on migrants' criminal groups and expelled them.

Swedens crime rate has increased 2200% since 1975 when they started to allow these people into the country.

Has mass refugee or immigration intake ever worked out for a country?

FEBRUARY 9, 2024

The Scandinavian nation of 10.6 million people is facing a national crisis because of its failure to successfully integrate record numbers of immigrants.

  • Sweden’s reputation has fallen from welfare-state model to warning example
  • Foreign-born citizens now account for 20 percent of the nation’s population
  • Officials are perplexed by crime, economic threats, deteriorating education
There was a time when Sweden was looked upon by American liberals as an inspirational example of the Scandinavian welfare state. Although Europeans were less impressed, even the country’s immediate neighbors tended to, grudgingly, accept Sweden as a senior brother.

After staying out of World War II, Sweden had evolved into a high-performing export-oriented economy, based on a stable parliamentary democracy and social consensus. The country had top-notch health care and education. It enjoyed social and gender equality, had low crime rates and little ethnic conflict. While grounds remain for optimism about some of these indicators, especially in the industrial sector, most have been transformed beyond recognition.

The majority of Swedish agree that Sweden shall take fewer migrants. Sweden Democrats have implementing measures to accomplish that, by cracking down on migrant criminal groups, mostly from Muslims countries, and expelled them to diminish the killings from gang wars.

Louise Meijer, an MP for Sweden’s centrist Moderate party, apologised to voters for her previous position on open borders. She regrets “making mistakes” by “pleading for openness and refugees [being] welcome”, she says.

Meijer says she “changed her mind” over her views, in an opinion piece for Expressen this week.

“Now, instead, I am advocating an even stricter migration policy than the one I opposed at the time,” she says.

Political sentiments around migration have shifted swiftly in Sweden, with now even leaders of the Social Democrats saying they favour more strict migration policies.

Sweden today is a “completely different country than it was at the end of the 20th century”. Per capita, it has “received the most immigrants in the Western world” in modern times, Meijer writes.

Today, “more than a third of Sweden’s population has a foreign background. In 1987, the corresponding figure was 11 per cent.”

Now , they regrets “making mistakes”, and advocate for stricter migrations laws. The immigration became the center of the political debate, and center-right government coalition that promised a more restrictive immigration policy won the last election. The new government has already implemented a more restrictive immigration policy.
