GERMAN Chancellor Angela Merkel is facing a backlash after 12 people were killed when an attacker ploughed through innocent revellers at a Christmas market in a truck.

The country’s far-right leaders have blasted the chancellor’s “open-door” immigration policy for sparking the attack in Berlin – and even her own party is putting the boot in.

It is not yet clear who the perpetrators are or perpetrator is. Let's wait and see.

I think the Germans have already drawn their own conclusions.

And Klaus Bouillon of Mrs Merkel’s CDU party said told Saarland radio: “We must state that we are in a state of war, although some people who want to see only the good can not see.”

So you think people that produce a product and sell it to people don't have some of the blame for how it is used ever? If it is well know that your product is used to kill people then it seems to fall into reason that your continued production of the product is made with prior knowledge that it could happen. If your product continues to get used in such a fashion and you respond by making your product work even better towards those ends it gets kind of hard to argue that you don't hold some of the blame.

I would say the bartender is somewhat responsible for what their patrons do, if too drunk to drive. Not the beverage industry. Not the gun industry either. Maybe the gun dealer if he/she had prior knowledge that their customer planned to kill someone.
The old hag in Germany has been told numerous times over the last several years that her policies wer dangerous to all Germans....and she refused to listen.

Those in Belgium and France also refused to listen or take appropriate action.

Not my point. The question wasn't over legal consequences, but if they hold some blame for the part they played. People can't kill people with guns unless someone provides those guns, which should be obvious. Gun manufactures and sellers provide people with guns and ammo with prior knowledge that a certain percentage of those guns and ammo will be used for murder.

Both of these examples being used in this thread are about responsible action. What Merkel did was irresponsible and there is no reason to believe she didn't know the danger she was putting her people into with it.
