Germany is passing a law which will take away their right to know which data is being collected about them. The UK is also passing a law which will infringe on privacy.

It's sad this is the way of the world now...

They have also banned encryption haven't they?

This is the kind of stuff that really helps radical islamic terror though..

It's sad that they take away all of their citizens rights instead of just allowing themselves to profile and pass laws specific to a certain group of people but that would be racist..

"we need to spy on suspected isis accomplices"
"that's racist"
"Then we will have to spy on everybody!!"
"ok go"

I can see it going like that..

Over two decades German politicians have used US law in this area as a warning example of the slide to totalitarianism. The present set of laws passed or in the process of being so are more intrusive than the US, but have avoided the question of control and oversight to a scary degree.

People would be wise to consider any online communication to be public knowledge. I really don't know why we would expect otherwise.

Wherever you go on the internet, no matter how far, the government is sure to be spying on you in some shape or form.

I think I know what you're referring to with the UK and I'd question how it will actually infringe on privacy.

I've no idea what you're talking about in relation to Germany though and I'm a little disappointed nobody else thought to question your assertions. Can you point to any actual facts relating to the German matter?

Get over yourself! We barely care what you post, what makes you imagine any government would bother with it?

Do you actually believe in privacy? Just think about it, if a new guy comes into your neighborhood, don't you think you or someone near you wouldn't "check" him out? ...for the greater good ofc ^^

Sooooo.......................

Nothing is being passed in Germany as the OP implies.

Okay.
