Europe at risk of collapse; France, Germany must lead - French PM

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT FRENCH MUSLIMS (OFF THE NET & PERSONAL EXPERIENCE)

Ethnic statistics are forbidden by law in France, for obvious reasons. They can and indeed are falsified often. Nonetheless, it is becoming evident that the French ”want to know” what Muslims are thinking. The French themselves are not great church-goers, but – I notice – rarely does a death go by without a religious service. (You never know ...)

Studies show nonetheless that more than half the resident Muslim-faith population are “religious” and attend services, if not regularly. Just less than half of all Muslims accept the fact that they are French first and of a religious conviction secondly. They obey French laws and accept French customs. Most also practice their own customs as well.

Another 25% (perhaps the younger crowd that are less qualified and less adapted to working a steady-job) think that their equal-rights are not totally observed. They are discriminated against, and feel the injustice. They thus militate for change, not so much as the law but of the custom/behaviour of the native French. They protest, but within the context of lawful demonstrations.

Another 28%, who have not had sufficient schooling because they fail it and coming from already poor families who have not fully assimilated into the work-force, do feel disassociated and more Muslim than French. They are the most susceptible to ISIS-preachers on the Internet, and are how they have been recruited to go to Syria from which only some have returned.

I suspect this contingent of disassociated and hostile French Muslims is far, far less in other countries that have had no real history with the French-speaking Muslim Maghreb (Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco). These latter whose origins are indeed the Maghreb are the most attracted to “illegal” mosques that Muslim “sharia” preachers have opened – often as a means of recruiting for ISIS.

These ramshackle mosques are now being closed as soon as they are found. The preachers most often are non-French and come from abroad, thus they preach in Arabic. They have been evicted from France whenever found.

Once again the problem is not jihadism, which is indeed negligible.

The first problem is the rising Islamism: a global phenomenon that gives birth to a transnational identity incompatible with the national identities, which defeats assimilation. More than half of European Muslims are concerned. (the article discusses fundamentalism, which is different but there is a strong overlap)

The second problem is Islam as a whole: we do not want Islam to become a part of the French culture and political landscape. Too many Muslims, forever. We want a permanent ban on Muslim immigration. Zero per year.
