Ukip's Steven Woolfe has claimed MEP Mike Hookem "came at me and landed a blow" in an altercation over the party's leadership contest.Mr Woolfe told the Daily Mail that Mr Hookem lost his temper and pushed him into a door frame during a meeting designed to clear the air between Ukip's MEPs.
Mr Woolfe later collapsed and was taken to hospital in a "serious" condition, before feeling better.
Mr Hookem denied he hit his colleague and suggested the MEP for North West England tripped instead. Link.

Hookem is desperately backpeddling as there could be serious assault charges brought by the Belgian police but this fracas also shows how serious the internecine fighting within UKIP will be to sort out where it goes and what direction it takes next.

Yesterday, Aaron Banks stated the possibility of creating a brand new party from the remains of UKIP that would challenge Labour and he has claimed he would like the conservative elements like Douglas Carswell and Suzanne Evans to go their own way. The unfortunate Mr Woolfe had stated at the private MEP meeting that he was speaking to the Conservative Party about links if not joining which brought about his subsequent dustup with Mike Hookem.

SO, where next for UKIP?

UKIP has no further point. It was a one product party and they achieved their goal. It might want to close the doors.

Well.... that's the point of the discussion.

UKIP has not folded, there are fist fights over direction, splits between ex Labour and ex Conservative supporters and you probably have some extremists in there anyway with their own plans. Banks wants a new party from the embers - the question was "which way next?"

It is hard to find a direction, when your business model disappears. Nerves can beginn to show as the trough goes dry.

That picture looks a tad staged; the man managed to hold on to his briefcase and conveniently land with his head resting on his overcoat, instead of on the floor. Odd.

Lol!

Somebody with as much of a propensity for posting faked material as you, turning sleuth.

So cruel! (Yet so true.)

Anyhow back to the OP, Mr Hookem has posted a pic of his knuckles to prove he didn't punch Mr Woolfe but Mr Woolfe's friends and experts say the injuries are inconsistent with "just a fall."

However, what I'm wondering is where are the Belgian police in all this?

Not altogether sure whether (unless specifically called upon) the inside of EU Parliament buildings is within their jurisdiction.

The first rule of UKIP Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club.

 It happened in Strasbourg?

My bad, the French tend to be more on the ball about such things but as Chagos points out there may be diplomatic rules about who can be prosecuted.

And considering how readily they all fall over at even the slightest hint of whiff of a breeze , I don't blame them.

And I don't mean punch-ups.

What could be more embarrassing for a fight club to have it known that it's compiled of a bunch of spineless wimps?
