Kim Kardashian Held by Gunmen in France

And that is your excuse for more crime and violence in the US? The black and asian did it?

Earlier in this thread you were talking about gang bangers. Who do you think gang bangers are in the US? White middle aged men?

Nope.... and that aint the type that the Kardasians hang around.

Is crime more of a problem in France now, than during the 60's and 70's, when Americans had a very high opinion of your country?
* Homicides: prevalence has been halved over the last since twenty years. This decline has been the norm since two centuries, with only an exceptional period between 70-85 (terrorism + crisis), and probably over the last two years because of terrorism.

* Rapes: stable since fifteen years. No valid source before that because of victims' under-reporting that requires pro-active polling.

* Ordinary violence has been constantly increasing since the 80's. Assaults especially.

* Antisemite actions have greatly increased since the 90's, with peaks related to Israel-Palestine issues. They were decreasing before that. Islamophobe actions have decreased over twenty years, with peaks the month after every terrorist action.

* Robberies and thievery have been decreasing since the 90's, with exceptional rises during every crisis. They had been rising since the 50's before that, along with consumerism.

* Burglaries have been greatly increased over the recent years because of Rom immigration (half of burglaries) and changes regarding recycling laws (they were previously collecting or stealing metals but recent registration laws led them to reconvert into burglaries).

* Drug consumption is declining since fifteen years, and rose greatly before that.

So there is no criminality rise: some things improved, others worsened. What worsened only started in the 80's while immigration became important in the 60's. Of course it could be generational (we have more problems with immigrants' descendants than with their parents). And given how prevalent they are in our prisons, one can speculate that things would have significantly further improved without them. Besides they are clearly dominating antisemitism. Regrettably we lack ethnic data to judge.

Regrettably your government does not want you to know, so they have criminalized the collection of such data.

...when the criminals are Muslims or foreigners.

Just like here, the corrupt FBI lumps Latinos and "whites" to show that the black thugs are not as numerous as they in fact are. Some even invented "white Hispanic". Anything to lump the scum with my race.

Spokesperson: Kim Kardashian West held at gunpoint - CNN.com

Robbers held Kim Kardashian hostage for and stole her booty, luckily not the one she's famous for.

Is crime out of control in France?

Well, let me first start with saying that nobody deserves to get robbed and that I feel awful for Kim K. that this happened. But if you flaunt your wealth and jewelry like she does on and on and on and be such a media lusting fake superstar that they even film and show where exactly you will be living during your time in Paris, well, you run the risk of someone taking that jewelry from you.

The really strange thing is that Lamus ended his concert hearing about the robbery. Which is a bit strange, she was not hurt, he could have taken a break from the concert to talk to his wife if need be, but cancel? I cannot understand people go to this overrated musician but they paid for a concert and they should have gotten that. He was in the US, she was in France, what is the added value of not performing your concert to the end. It was not like he could just magic himself over to France or her to the US.

Maybe Caitlin convinces her to vote Trump, and this Kardashian makes it cool in Hollywood to VOTE TRUMP.

Then her VERY INFLUENTIAL HUBBY gets millions of blacks to VOTE TRUMP.

VOTE TRUMP

:peace

Yeah, still not going to be cool to vote Trump in Hollywood. And I seriously assume it will never be cool to vote for an orange reality star who loves disparaging women (especially about their looks or lack thereof).

Snooki from the Jersey Shore isn't running for office as for as I know.
She is a Clinton supporter however.

Interesting. You assert that women who flaunt their jewelry and valuables are asking to be robbed. Do you believe that women who flaunt their bodies while wearing revealing clothing are asking to be sexually assaulted or harassed?

Kanye will one day be robbed himself, when Kim files for divorce, and he learns that half of his net worth now belongs to her.

My comments are equally applicable to Lamus and hundreds of other male and female stars who think they have to run around with a fortune of bling in their mouth or around their necks.

Sadly if you flaunt wealth you risk attracting bad people. That is not gender specific.

And I am not talking about rape or sexual assault, I only made a comment about jewelry.

I agree, the odds are good that Kim K. will divorce her Lame-ass Lamus Hubby.

Good morning, CJ. :2wave:

Totally agree! The entire family seems to share the same obsession with the limelight, and it doesn't seem to matter how they keep it focused on themselves - just as long as it is! Weird way to live....

It's extremely lucrative. All you need to give up is your self-respect. ;)

Now that Kanye has dumped longtime lover Riccardo Tisci, his latest "protégé" will be delighted should this happen. ;)

So Kim was supposed to have one bodyguard with her, a guy who tends to work with music acts. He went with her sister for some reason. Now maybe he knows his stuff and maybe not, but when you travel with $10 million in gems and trinkets you(F) need to take security more seriously.

Unless maybe it was all insured and they really dont give a ****, or have liquidity problems. These two are something else, I would not think anything too far fetched for them to hatch.

No, no thoughts, just a disconcerting mental image of a Frenchman running around with Kim Kardashian's severed ass cheeks.

On a serious note, I don't think crime is out of control in a nation because one famous person got caught up in the middle of a crime. I haven't looked at the crime statistics for France, so I can't make a call on how their criminal justice system is working for them based on a single incident.

I wasn't comparing crime rates between your country and mine with that question. I really should have stated that, as some posters seem to think that everything should be compared to US standards, which is a bad idea considering that our number of intentional homicides per year is similar with Uganda and the Republic of Congo.

Americans had a very high opinion of another country? I doubt that in the sixties most Americans could name five foreign capital cities. Even today I doubt most Americans could name the capital of Canada which is right next door and America's biggest trading partner. Americans don't have a very high opinion of any other country, generally speaking. You might but your cousin in Oklahoma hasn't.

From what I understand, France was very highly regarded in the U.S. during the time period of the 1950s-1970s. Kind of similar to how American kids went through a period during the mid-60s where they were intrigued by London, the music, fashion, culture.

And I actually do have cousins in Oklahoma, how'd you know that GM? You surprised me with that one.

The capitol of Canada is Canada City. It's a really great place where the people still ride their moose to work :2razz:

Just kidding. I've been to Vancouver, I'd like to see much more of Canada. It's an awesome country from what I've seen and heard.

I'll bow to your more immediate experience. From hereit looks like America has had little respect for France since WW2 but my perception could be wrong.

Regrettably your government does not want you to know, so they have criminalized the collection of such data.
Yes. I would love to dig into the ministry of interior's treasure trove of "non-public" statistics. One of our former right/far-right parliamentary talking about Islamism and integration depicted the content of those secret statistics as "horrifying".

Voila.

Well, what most people don’t realize is that Paris was the cultural center of the world. And we had this city, New York, has became the cultural center of the world after World War II.

But Paris was also the center for medical education, medical science, science itself, technology. The Brooklyn Bridge, for example, stands on an underwater foundation system called caissons, which was developed by French engineers in Paris. So the engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge, Washington Roebling went to Paris to find out how they do it. And that’s why he was able to do it.

I have no immediate experience with the 50s-70s, but I've read about that time period.

I have no immediate experience with the 50s-70s, but I've read about that time period.

The true nadir of Paris was the 1890 - 1916 period: the genesis of great 20th Century movements like Cubism, Bauhaus, Constructivism, De Stijl and Vhuktemas and a lot of it was all based around people visiting and seeing Picasso's studio where he was starting to break all the rules of Art.

He can't go a single thread without mentioning Trump. Even if, like the thread in question, the discussion has nothing to do with him whatsoever.

Actually yes, if the size and diversity of the country is considered.

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. A quick google search reveals that the U.S doesn't make it to the list of top 10 countries with the highest standard of living.
