There may be trouble brewing in the Balkans.

The Balkans have been good at brewing trouble for a very long time.

Trouble brews everywhere different ethnic groups have to live together.

At best it can temporarily work if there is a domineering force able to destroy those distinct identities and assimilate them.

Tito once played this role in Yugoslavia, but after his death the country naturally exploded. Nations once played this role in some Western European countries, before we destroyed them in the name of European unification, libertarianism and multiculturalism. Most of empires exploded. India exploded. Europe is exploding. Canada, Belgium, China and Russia may plausibly explode. I reserve my judgment for the USA: Americans exert a strong social pressure to promote the American model and values and they have a strong faith and pride in their country. But the white hegemony is fading away and the country becomes more ethnically diverse. As a result there is a rise of ethnic segregation and disputes, and they seem to be failing to assimilate Latinos.
