Has time came for unification?

Would this state ever have come into being or survived 5 minutes without massive outside intervention?

Well during the last war while dealing with Serbs alone, it did. We were kicking some but in the war of Pashtrik. But RT is rounding up several allies, usually Slavs, and always posits us as "Evil Terrorists." So in such a case, and only in such a case (we would survive eternity if left in peace - hence viable) I think we should merge.

But hey, you know where I am from. Captain asked you a question before and now I am joining him on it. Where are you from? To tell you the truth there is some "aura" surrounding you so I am curious?

Kosovo wouldn't have been able to drive out the Serb forces without massive intervention.

It might have lasted longer, might have been bloodier, the conflict may have spiraled out of control with more countries involved in it (Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, perhaps Greece, Turkiye, etc), but I am optimistic that we would have won in the end. Glad the intervention seized the spiral from going out of control.

We have a joke around here. Do you know what CCCC means? The coat of arms for Serbian army and police? It means "Camo Cloba Cere Crbima" which would be "Only Slobo (Slobodan Miloschevich) ****s Serbs." Might you have a particular problem with this statement?

I'd be concerned that unifying with Albania would spark many of the same conflicts of interest that lead to the 1999 war.

Well the term "balkanization" didn't originate from this region for no reason. ;)

We all recongnize that the Balkans have a long history of divisiveness; stemming from language, religious, and ethnic differences. Why not let territories with enthic majorities elect to unite into larger, more secure nations by plebiscite? Seems a better alternative to NATO or UN troops sitting around serving as humam shields anyway.

If the losing minority fears "ethnic cleansing" they always have the option of relocating to the nation sharing their ethnic heritage where they will (hopefully) be welcomed. In the case of Kosovo, perhaps the regions closest to Serbia might elect to be Serbian and be a place for minority Serbs from areas closer to Albania to relocate to. Seems like that might reduce conflicts, at least due to territorial claims based on enthnicity.

Who are the minorities that would feel that they have lost if all people in the region unite with areas that they feel they belong to?

Once the U.S. and the European Union economy will collapse , and the chaos begins (everyone will forget about human rights and return to the instincts.) - Serbs to return to Kosovo, and will not help any association with the Albanians. The Serbs have Slavs - that is, the Serbs and the Russian one people. I understand correctly? If so, then - the words of the great German chancellor about Russian, can be said about the Serbs: "Even the most favorable outcome of the war will never lead to the decomposition of the main forces of Russia, which itself is based on millions Russian ... These latter, even if they split the international treatises, very quickly connected with each other, as the cut pieces of the particles of mercury. It is indestructible state of the Russian nation, strong for its climate, its spaces and limited needs. Do not expect that once taking advantage of Russia's weakness, you will receive dividends forever. Russian always come for their money. And when they come - you do not rely on the Jesuit agreement, which you are forced to sign a Russian, and which as if you are supposed to justify. They are not worth the paper on which are written. Therefore, from the Russian stands or play fair, or do not play. " (Otto von Bismarck. Prussian ambassador at the court of Emperor Alexander II. 1859-1862. First Chancellor of the German Empire 1871-1890.)

Stability can mean everything and nothing ... maybe it's more stable to have people who feel they belong together united under one national umbrella, rather than splitting them into many different independent states. Especially since Kosovo is really tiny.

Tiny it may be when compared to your big ass Deutchland ;) . But we could kick some Pitcarian ass!!

Small little "Land of Pear" (i.e., Dardhania in Albanian).

Want some? I could mail it to you? ;)

There he is!! :) . Toovariiiish, the rare glimpse of evil from the other side! Wwhere the hell have you been till now?! ;)

Speak up old champ, how badly would you return for your money by helping your Serbs get their "Medievil lands" back huh?!

Am I wrong? Do not Slavs Serbs? Serbs - Orthodox. Although, as well the Orthodox Greeks . In my opinion Serbs - Slavs.\\\ I am writing an open mind about Kosovo. Really. Without the support of NATO, Kosovo will not last even a month. Once the U.S. economy will collapse - at once collapse the EU economy. And vice versa. (EU have U.S. financial assets. U.S. has financial assets of the EU.And both have crazy debts.) After that the NATO countries will not be interest up Kosovo, Serbia and Albania. Everyone knows the collapse of Yugoslavia - the political project of the West. The goal - to weaken Russian influence in the Balkans. Or do you think that the West is concerned about the fate of Kosovo Albanians? * laughs * Look at Libya, Egypt, Iraq.... How they democracy? Countries on the verge of collapse. And the west spit on them. And when the Serbs to return to Kosovo, only Russian will be able to protect Albanians . Surprise? Only Russian able to influence the Serbs. This is a fact.

That suggestion is entirely too sensible, which is why it will never be attempted. :doh

Just like you did when Enver Hoxha and Stalin were buddies?! :doh

But thanks for bringing up your prophecy of doom. The economy falls and NATO troops go away. Serbs come in for another round as they did in 1878, 1912, and 1999. I would take this a legitimate position considering that both you influenced from RT and me influenced from "Western media" have noticed.

The solution is joining with Albania though. Not Russia :) . So stupid to propose such a thing to us when we know by experience how that goes!

Goshin, Cap'n, and others.

Dardania should be merged with Albania the way it is. With Serbs north. Serbs north should not join Serbia for every country in EU has a thorn. This should be our Albanian thorn, just to keep our nationalists at bay. Some nationalists here wise up and want more, well trouble would first start north, and you would get it (i.e., "you" as in EU and USA). Serbian nationalists want their "medieval land" back (though we were here long before medieval times as ancients and natives) well Dardanian Albanians in their south east as well as Hungarians north would raise their voices, and there will be trouble there, and again you would know about it.

I think most if not all countries have parts of other countries in them for such a reason. To avoid the comfort of "pure" ethnicity for nationalism to grow.

Why do you claim the right for Albanian Kosovars to unite with Albania while denying Serbian Kosovars the right to unite with Serbia? That's pretty hypocritical.

It has a lot to do with: a) intentions, b) power, and c) benefits. Let me explain:

a) According to RT and people that blindly follow its propaganda (see Tovarish for example), we are "terrorists" still, even after a decade and a half. I do not think this trend is changing and it seems to get worse. So they are keeping the wounds of losing the hegemony projects fresh, which may indicate a future re-attempt at growing at our expense.

It is not the reverse. We have no intentions to take say the remaining parts of Dardania back from them (all the way to Nish). You would not see any media pushing on with such nationalistic statements. See we want to be left alone and as you can see our foes think that we are easy to tackle by this much.

Due to the difference in intentions such as their hegemony and our thirst for stability and peace, we should get to merge and they should not. Plus we would benefit from not being a complete homogenous country. The north should be with Serb minorities, fully integrated into Dardania, and hopefully later, Albania.

b) We are the majority. Usually in democracy it is the majority that decides what the future aims in politics should be. We have ensured Serbs north that they will be left in peace by giving them super rights, higher than any one of us. So now they should have their opinion heard, we will not oppress their freedom of speech regardless the fact that that was not the case when power was reversed (mind you), their opinion has been taken into consideration (hence we gave them the super rights), but now they should integrate and follow the family of Dardania wherever it may lead everyone together.

c) The north is wealthy in minerals and metals. For one there is gold there. We would like to find some good investors from some of our supporting countries and perhaps develop a pure gold manufactory business that when combined with access with the sea ports would boost our international trade. It would strengthen us as Albania economically, and we for a change will promote liberty and freedom with that, oppression no more.

My opinion. - Will be all different. Ethnic conflicts are not only in Kosovo. These conflicts are all over Europe and the USA. Africa, south East Asia and the Middle East, as well will have a Racial and ethnic conflicts. And this conflict in Kosovo go unnoticed in the world. And the Serbs, I think, return to Kosovo. (after the ethnic cleansing of Serbs and destruction of Orthodox churches and priests kill - Serbs will fight without regard for human rights and the Hague Tribunal). \\\\ I do not do prophecy. Answer for yourself a few questions - and you will become clear (get away from the problems of Kosovo). Example. Riots in Egypt, Syria, Yemen and other Arab countries. Questions. - 1) What's going on?
2) Who this is does?
3) What do they achieve?
4)Who pays? and who is this fund?
5) In general, why this is necessary?

You do not think that all people in the Middle East turned in mad, and began to destroy their countries simultaneously? Answer the questions - you will become clear. (the same way - Kosovo.)

If it hadn't destroyed the economy of Europe and the world after World War II, - the U.S. would never have got out of the Great Depression.
Who was the driver of World War II number 2? - Correctly Fascism.
Who encouraged and financed fascism? - Correctly - Western countries, led by the United States and England .
The movement of Fascism was developed, armed and increased.
Fascism and unleashed the World War - number 2
Then reveal itself the people who gave their lives to destroying fascism.

What was the main result World War - number 2 for the U.S.?
1)the destruction of the world economy, well, of course, along with fascism.
2)U.S. withdrawal from depression and turn it into a leader (hegemon) of the world economy

What will be the main outcome World War - number 3 for the U.S.?
1)the destruction of the world economy, well, of course, along with .................
2)U.S. withdrawal from depression and turn it into a leader (hegemon) of the world economy.

What is inserted in place of dots?
That's right - Islamic fundamentalism - aggressive wing of Islamism, which declares the need to return Muslims to the strict observance of the requirements of the Koran and other holy books in the religion, and the "liberation of Muslim lands by from colonizers" But first this Islamic fundamentalism, need to develop, enhance, give weapons, and only then to declare the main enemy of mankind.....
So, good luck to you in your rose-colored glasses.

In other words, you are simply completely hypocritical. The Serbs were the majority in Serbia, yet you wanted to secede from them. If you want to join Albania, that is your choice, but once you start messing with borders, it will also affect you and you will lose those parts of Kosovo that Serbia will claim. Chances are that they, and other countries in the neighborhood will actually overrun you completely and take what they want.

We are aware of that. Hence if we merge they might be more reluctant since Albania is NATO member you see. Us allies (you probably are not one?) work these things out together.

If Albania wants to annex Kosovo and get itself in a war with Serbia over that it will be completely on its own.

And actually if Kosovo were to chose this route I would favour immediate pullout of all help and assistance from the EU. You can then settle your affairs with the Serbs on your own.

Well, if we must.

Nah, but you do not seem to know Serbs like we do. You see Serbs wont enter the war cause they may lose more than what they planned if they did.

I know Serbs better than you ;) . So relax, such a scenario wont happen.

Well, if we must.

You should stop acting like you're the representative of Albanians or Kosovo or Albania. You aren't. You're just one person. Unless you are an influential, political figure in those countries, then by all means, continue. But if you aren't , then stop acting like it.

What is the problem?

What is the problem?

Are you a public figure? Are you an elected official of the people of Kosovo? Can you speak on their behalf?

Or are you just an albanian from Kosovo who wants to speak about issues regarding Kosovo and the albanian people as you see them.

Because if you are the first, then by all means, keep on the same track. But if you aren't. If you are just like any other inhabitant of this forum, just some guy with some convictions, then act like that. And I can, and do, respect that.

I generally like your input on multiple issues. it's thoughtful and respectful and generally constructive.

Ironically, the times when I find your input to be the most dislikeable is when you address issues regarding kosovo, albania or what you purposefully call dardania. that's when I find your comments to be the least thoughtful, the most grandstanding and highly dislikeable. You stop being the guy you are in all the other issues and become similar to what hyperpartisans are which get mocked on in the lesser known parts of the forum.
You're basically a character, let's call X, that I like to take the piss at, but with better English.

But it's your call.

Thanks for the feedback. I always appreciate feedback.

The thing is you do not know the baseline. What you see here is a lot better than what I use to be ;)
