It's happened before - the last being with what is known as the DALTON MINIMUM - between 1790-1830.

NASA had predicted a grand solar minimum to start in 2020, reaching its peak on 2025.
A solar minimum means a period of diminished solar activity in the 11-year cycle of the sun. The prediction is that this next solar cycle will be the weakest in 200 years - around the same level as the DALTON MINIMUM which occurred between 1790 to 1830.
However, NASA makes no mention of the brutal cold, famine, war and powerful volcanic eruptions associated with it.

NASA Predicts Next Solar Cycle will be Lowest in 200 Years (Dalton Minimum Levels) + the Implications - Electroverse

We might be starting to experience this now.

The sun has entered a ‘lockdown’ period, which could cause freezing weather, famine
The sun has entered a ‘lockdown’ period, which could cause freezing weather, famine
Actually, both NASA and NOAA both completely botched their prediction of Solar Cycle 24, but managed to correct it after-the-fact.

Solar minimums do not mean a period of diminished solar activity, they mean a period of diminished sunspot activity. There is a difference.

The Mount Tambora eruption of 1815 was also completely unrelated to solar activity at the time. The brutal cold and the "Year Without a Summer" (1816) were a direct result of the Mount Tambora eruption and had nothing do with the solar minimum occurring during that same time.

This so-called "Grand" solar minimum has only lasted two Solar Cycles thus far, whereas the Dalton Minimum spanned four Solar Cycles. It is rather pretentious to call something "Grand" when it has only lasted half as long as the prior minimum.

That "NASA prediction" part on the end is a "sketch" done by a self-identified climate skeptic. Anyone have a link to an actual NASA forecast?
This is the original Solar Cycle 24 NASA forecast, made in 2006: Scientists Predict Big Solar Cycle | Science Mission Directorate

Solar cycle 24, due to peak in 2010 or 2011 "looks like its going to be one of the most intense cycles since record-keeping began almost 400 years ago," says solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center.
By 2009 both NASA and NOAA had corrected their predictions, after-the-fact. FYI, record-keeping of Solar Cycles began in 1755, 265 years ago, not "almost 400 years ago."

Is there some part of this that is supposed to justify fabricating a prediction and attributing it to NASA?

Conversely, that "sketch" put up by the blogger you linked shows the peak for cycle 25 much lower than cycle 24. On that image, cycle 24 peaks around the 100 mark while the cycle 25 hand-drawn sketch peaks closer to 50. They cut the value in half.

Half is not "very similar" to cycle 24. You proved yourself wrong. I love it.

Again, I must emphasize: that top image cycle 25 "NASA projection" drawn in red is openly admitted to just being a sketch drawn by a blogger. That image was altered, and they admitted it.
    Well... your prediction:

    Was spot on.

Do you think tosca1 has any awareness of how completely refuted her arguments were?

You wanted a link to the original NASA prediction. I provided it. Or did you fail to comprehend the question you posted? "Anyone have a link to an actual NASA forecast?"

You didn't like the answer, so you manufacture a completely different question that has nothing to do with anything. Why am I not surprised? Next time you can Google the information yourself, since you are clearly not interested in answers to your own questions. You just spew nonsensical rhetoric from sheer ignorance like every leftist who ignorantly promotes Anthropogenic Climate Change.

Yeah, and you proved my suspicions to be exactly correct: the article that OP listed falsified a chart by altering a NASA prediction. I don't see why you think we're on opposite sides of this. You proved that the OP was posting false information, just like I said he was.

It's trolling for me to agree with a link you posted? Curious claim.

I showed you NASA's chart right next to the chart OP had in his link. They are not the same. Do you agree?
