[W:202]Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

So you cant even find it on a map, yet we are supposed to believe you know more than NASA?

(Its in the northeast, by the way. Guess I know more than NASA *and* you)

This is a link to a google maps specific location;

Google Maps

Try to do the same for your fantasy river.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

Yes, Greenland has a vast amount of ice.

The way to measure the rate of change of that ice is to look at the rate of snowfall and the rate of outflow in rivers and ice burgs.

The outflow is vastly less than the 1150Gt/yr that lands.

That is simply plain to anybody who has the slightest self confidence and who looks at the maps and the basic size of the rivers. This is confirmed by the biggest river in Greenland having an anual flow of 8Gt.

Looking at maps and rivers on google earth doesn't give you any perspective when measuring melting on greenland. Experts actually have to go out to Greenland and measure. Greenland is like a whole continent covered with a frozen river, layer after layer of frozen river. Comparing a tiny river to greenland is ridiculous.

2016>2017>2018<2019 El Nino>_____

Since 2016 the only year of warming was an El Nino year.

What matters is the long term trend. Not what happened last year. You haven't outsmarted the climate experts.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

We shall see.

You keep saying that. Temperatures keep going up. Climate models keep getting confirmed. The coming ice age keeps getting pushed back. Its been that way since the 70s.

But we already established that you don’t even know what the biggest river in Greenland is!

Do you understand that none of the models have been confirmed.
The 30 year old models, may match today's temperatures, but not today's CO2 levels.
They were predicting higher CO2 levels by now.
Hansen, 1988 Scenario A, had CO2 levels increasing at 1.5% annually.
The 1988 CO2 level was 351 ppm so 1.5% would be 5.25 ppm per year.
https://pubs.giss.nasa.gov/docs/1988/1988_Hansen_ha02700w.pdf
Only one year since 1988 has the growth reached 3 ppm per year!
32 years at 1.5% annual growth would place the CO2 level in 2020 at ~519 ppm, almost 110 ppm higher than it actually is.
It is difficult to say the model is confirmed, when one of the variables is so far off.

A couple of years old, but still on point.

[h=1]Why Climate Models Run Hot[/h][FONT=&quot]by Rud Istvan, EPA administrator Pruitt wants to “Red Team” the catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (CAGW) consensus best reflected in the IPCC assessment reports (AR). At its core, CAGW rests on just three propositions: 1. CO2 is a ‘greenhouse’ gas retarding radiative cooling. This should not be in serious dispute since Tyndall experimentally proved…

If anything things are even hotter than predicted

Direct measurements of meltwater runoff on the Greenland ice sheet surface | PNAS

The production and transport of meltwater (runoff) is an important hydrological process operating on the surface of the Greenland ice sheet (GrIS). Total GrIS mass loss from runoff and solid ice dynamics (glacier calving) now exceeds ∼260 Gt/y, contributing >0.7 mm annually to global mean sea level rise (1⇓–3)

So... it is saying that the total Greenland ice sheet is losing ∼260 Gt and adding >0.7 mm to the sea levels every year. This includes all the added precipitation that falls on the ice sheet every year.

Sorry, Tim... you still haven't shown any evidence that Greenland is gaining ice every year.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

Greenland is like a whole continent covered with a frozen river, layer after layer of frozen river. Comparing a tiny river to greenland is ridiculous.

The experts who have measured the flow rates of the rivers come back with numbers that say that the place is gaining ice mass.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

No. You have demonstrated that you are utterly incapable of reason thought.

What is the largest (by flow rate) river in Greenland and where is it? Give a google maps location.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

So the people who have gone to Greenland and measured the flow rates of the rivers are wrong?

And you wonder why we call you cultists.

You read my reference? Lol

This is why you get things wrong. You always leave out variables

Incapable? I asked you to back your statement that the Watson is the largest river in Greenland.

So far, all you’ve managed to muster is a simple google search that says, if anything, the opposite- that at least one other river is larger.

It should be simple.

Where is this data on flow rates, anyway? Citation needed.

Google gives the Watson as the answeer to the question of what is the largest river in Greenland.

You clam that this is wrong.

Well, show some sort of evidence or shut up.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

And your source mentions nothing about the size of this river relative to any other in Greenland.

So where is your source that it’s the largest??

Type what is the largest river in Greenland and see what you get.

Re: Greenland is gaining ice mass no matter what NASA says.

Yes, your impressive Google skills were demonstrated earlier.

And even YOU didnt get a hit that that tells you the Watson is the largest river.

The funny thing is, thats just the first assumption in your entire idea...and it seems to be not only wrong, but you seem to have spent more time posting the results of your google search than actually doing the google search.

OK, lets review this like you're five.

When you type in 'biggest river in Greenland', you get a hit.

But that hit does not say... ANYWHERE.... that the biggest river is the Watson. It just doesnt.

Let me illustrate,

If I google "Tim the Plumber doesnt know what he's talking about", I get these results:

About 4,420,000 results (0.86 seconds)
Showing results for Tim the Plumber doesn't know what he's talking about
Search instead for Tim the Plumber doesnt know what hes talking about

Thats a lot of hits! Must be true, huh?

If I was dishonest, I'd promote the fact that this search turns up over 4 million results that go back almost a century, thus proving that Tim the Plumber hasnt known what he is talking about for at least as long as some of the longest lived people on the planet.

But that would be silly. Almost as silly as pretending a google search that turns up a result is completely relevant. Your search literally tells you one thing.. That the Watson ISNT the biggest river in Greenland. If it showed it was, you's certainly have cut and pasted the evidence. But you dont. Repeatedly. Most people would be embarrassed by this. I cant explain your motivation for continuing, unless you just are trying to get Jack to 'like' your posts, which, frankly, is not a real strong endorsement of accuracy.
