When you have an angry little girl as a spokesperson, it just seems preachy. Why just words? Use pictures.

The oceans have risen, land has shrunk. Here are some current satellite pictures. Boca Chica Key, Cape Cod, Kivalina, Midway:

Just show the "before" pictures of these areas, which would demonstrate land shrinkage over time due to rising sea levels - no angry little girl required.

So tell me, why do I care about rising sea level when I'm a good 400 miles inland?

All those islands seem to be growing.

In order to show that they have changed at all you would need a picture befroe and one now. 2 pictures per site.

You have shown only the current pictures. What is your point?

Are you under the impression that people who are skeptical of AGW, are also skeptical of sea level rise? The two things are not linked in any scientific way.
The sea level has been rising at the current rate since the early 1800’s, way before CO2 levels saw any significant rise.

Yes but how high are you for when the great tidal wave comes? I am 800 feet above sea level so my socks are staying dry.

CTers are unreachable. If the oceans flood their houses, they'll drown blaming the sun and liberals.

A simpler, easier way to convince the deniers is to show proof that manmade climate change is somehow killing or displacing large portions of the human population in the world as compared to natural disasters, war, pandemics, and economic downturns.

And by then we should have plenty of time to correct the problem. Sure.

As opposed to trying to correct a problem that doesnt exist?

Why do you feel liberalism impacts climate?

Why do you feel the Sun does not?

Why do you feel the two are equivalent?

And by then we should have plenty of time to correct the problem. Sure.

You just don’t get it. The problem is natural and “we” do not possess the ability to “correct” it.

Climate change has always occurred, is occurring and always will occur.

You can’t change it and you can’t stop it. Why not go for world peace. You have a better chance of success in that.

Statement on Climate Change from 18 Scientific Associations

"Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver." (2009)2

AAAS emblem
American Association for the Advancement of Science

"Based on well-established evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that human-caused climate change is happening." (2014)3
ACS emblem
American Chemical Society

"The Earth’s climate is changing in response to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and particulate matter in the atmosphere, largely as the result of human activities." (2016-2019)4
AGU emblem
American Geophysical Union

"Based on extensive scientific evidence, it is extremely likely that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse gases, are the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century. There is no alterative explanation supported by convincing evidence." (2019)5
AMA emblem
American Medical Association

"Our AMA ... supports the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s fourth assessment report and concurs with the scientific consensus that the Earth is undergoing adverse global climate change and that anthropogenic contributions are significant." (2019)6
AMS emblem
American Meteorological Society

"Research has found a human influence on the climate of the past several decades ... The IPCC (2013), USGCRP (2017), and USGCRP (2018) indicate that it is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-twentieth century." (2019)7
APS emblem
American Physical Society

"Earth's changing climate is a critical issue and poses the risk of significant environmental, social and economic disruptions around the globe. While natural sources of climate variability are significant, multiple lines of evidence indicate that human influences have had an increasingly dominant effect on global climate warming observed since the mid-twentieth century." (2015)8
GSA emblem
The Geological Society of America

"The Geological Society of America (GSA) concurs with assessments by the National Academies of Science (2005), the National Research Council (2011), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2013) and the U.S. Global Change Research Program (Melillo et al., 2014) that global climate has warmed in response to increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases ... Human activities (mainly greenhouse-gas emissions) are the dominant cause of the rapid warming since the middle 1900s (IPCC, 2013)." (2015)9

SCIENCE ACADEMIES
International Academies: Joint Statement

"Climate change is real. There will always be uncertainty in understanding a system as complex as the world’s climate. However there is now strong evidence that significant global warming is occurring. The evidence comes from direct measurements of rising surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures and from phenomena such as increases in average global sea levels, retreating glaciers, and changes to many physical and biological systems. It is likely that most of the warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities (IPCC 2001)." (2005, 11 international science academies)10

UNSAS emblem
U.S. National Academy of Sciences

"Scientists have known for some time, from multiple lines of evidence, that humans are changing Earth’s climate, primarily through greenhouse gas emissions."11

U.S. GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

USGCRP emblem
U.S. Global Change Research Program

"Earth’s climate is now changing faster than at any point in the history of modern civilization, primarily as a result of human activities." (2018, 13 U.S. government departments and agencies)12

INTERGOVERNMENTAL BODIES

IPCC emblem
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, and sea level has risen.”13

“Human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history. Recent climate changes have had widespread impacts on human and natural systems.”14

Seriously. I don't get it.
You posted ... what?
Current satellite images of certain land areas?
What do you think that proved?
Is there another set of images coming that would make a point?

This should convince people who believe in science.

You're wasting your time. These nutjobs are immune to reason. One of them will be along in a moment to explain how all of these organisations are, for some reason, not reflecting the views of their membership. And with a straight face too.

Its 2020.

Start there.

Let ME give you some advice. Stop building your arguments on end of the world OHMYGARSHWEREALLGONNADIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! bull**** rhetoric like the quasi-scientific community has been doing literally since 1970. When the pipers leading your little charade parade act and present themselves with the same kind of unhinged lunacy as a 13 year old behaviorally challenged puppet from Sweden or wherever the **** she is from, you look stupid right out of the gate.

The end result has been the same for 5 decades. We are all going to die horrible tragic deaths because of (INSERT CAUSE HERE). Acid rain the coming ice age, global cooling, global warming, climate change....the only thing that has changed in the fatalistic rhetoric of the last half a century is the cause that they are demanding money for.

Oh...and heres something. Just ****ing stop already with the "the earth only has ___ days/months/years to live" bull****. Seriously...The father of the modern nutbag parade, Al Gore, started this **** back in the 90s and you bought into then without applying ANY critical thinking skills whatsoever. You just went along with every stupid gloom and doom prediction offered and bobbed and nodded adoringly...then went out and spread their gospel while they sat back, laughed their balls off at you, and got rrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiccch. While Global Warming activists were shrieking about the walls of water swallowing major cities, about entire countries being abandoned, about the UK never again seeing snow, about the entire...ENTIRE northern US population being forced to invade Mexico as climate change refugees, and about the tragic death of the very last Polar Bear, Al Gore and his cronies were raking in the cash, flying around to parties and conventions in their private jets, living lavish lifestyles, buying new homes (ON OCEAN FRONT PROPERTY...THAT should have given you people a ****ing clue about what they though about their own dire predictions), and every once in a while, resurfaced to remind you about the death of the very last polar bear.

And you swallowed every drop dutifully. We have 10 years...in 1996. We have to do something about it by 2006 or its too late. 2010...its the final countdown. 2012...not a minute later. We have until 2016 to do something about this or were all gonna die. Currently now we are in our 4th year...8 years away from the end of the world.

And here is the hillarious part. Even though they had to keep changing the NAME of this **** we are all supposed to be so scared of that we will fund ungodly amounts of cash to the green energy proposals, to the Paris treaties, and to other programs that EVEN THE IPCC openly admits is nothing more than a wealth redistribution scam...even though all of the gloom and doom prophecies have failed to materialize and yet there you are still bleating about the next one...despite all of that...YOU think WE are the ones that are 'unscientific'.

You want to know how to (continue) to make progress? Talk about the need for clean air and water for all of us to live better, to enjoy life better, to preserve the natural beauty of our land, to work together to find clean energy sources that will make the world a better place but MOST importantly...will actually WORK. See...we HAVE common ground. We already are making progress in many of those areas and need to continue to make progress.

And we can all agree with that AND you all can still run around and make yourselves look ridiculous following a mentally challenged globalist funded adolescent puppet swallowing every new gloom and doom prediction they give you while you continue to watch all of the dire end of the world date metrics come and go.

Has somebody hacked your account?

SD, you are generally much better than this at making a decent argument. Given that the pictures are each of a different place and a one time shot of them how do they possibly show any change?

I don't know if those islands are growing or not. They look to me to be growing judging by the way the vegitation and human added sea defenses are enlarging these islands. But how can we tell for sure?

"all of these organisations are, for some reason," reflecting the views of the IPCC.
Do you think all those organizations actually performed their own climate studies?

This should convince people who believe in science.

As soon as you see anything that states "Based on well-established evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that human-caused climate change is happening." you know whatever else it contains is useless.

I was replying to swing_voter, not the OP.

NASA does. They have a huge earth Sciences department. Guess what they say about agw?
