BTW there is an official NOAA tide gauge at Midway, and it shows a small sea level rise,
but since the island is visibly larger, other factors are at play.

It matters because if Trump believes in climate change then maybe he'll put back some of the EPA regulations that he dissolved.

You'd never heard of land reclamation?
Sand Island, is not Eastern Island! and the runways on Eastern Island do not look like they were expanded since the 1942 picture.
(They also look like they have not been used in many years.)

And that has what to do with the sea level at Midway island?

The island is 1.25 miles long. Why hasn't it shrunk due to rising sea levels?
It has. According to NOAA, the sea level around the Midway Atoll between 1947 and 2018 averaged a 1.38mm increase per year. Which means that in the 79 years since the photograph as taken the sea level around Midway increased by 109.02mm or 4.29". It is not a difference you are going to be able to see from a photograph. Particularly when the tide changes more than that twice every day.

Land reclamation is a thing. You were fooled by two photos and unimaginable ignorance.

You might wanna consider how many times you've been fooled by ridiculous crap on this subject.

You beat me to it. The PSMSL page is here and depending how you
analyse the data it' a rise of four to five inches in all that time.

the temperature will be in 2100 when we dont know it WILL be in 1950 !!

Land reclamation is a thing, it simple does not appear to have been a thing at Eastern Island in Midway.
The sea level has increased at Midway, about 4.2 inches between pictures.
It is unlikely that 4.2 inches of sea level rise would be observable from those photographs.

    This is meaningless.

    Lets see the grades.

What the sea taketh the sea also giveth. Due north of the Midway Atoll the sea levels around Adak Island between 1957 to 2018 have been dropping by an average of 2.63 mm/year. So in the same period Midway lost 4.29" Adak Island rose by 207.77mm or 8.18".

It should be noted that the high tide around the Midway Atoll is between 1.1 and 1.6 feet. Which means that depending on the time of the day the photographs were taken, the older photograph may show less landmass than the newer photograph, despite the loss of 4.29" over 79 years.
