Arctic Cold Smashes October Records in the West, Plains

It is not likely, and it would take a lot longer than 1,000 years, but it is not completely impossible. There are plausible scenarios in which a massive release of methane (the so-called clathrate gun hypothesis) could indeed trigger sufficient warming to result in a runaway effect. Most climate scientists don't think it is likely, but it hasn't been completely ruled out.
Anyone who doesnt rule it out is an idiot. I wouldnt be surprised if the usual quacks on your side would think it's a possibility though.

Once again, the Wikipedia list I cited is not a list of "registered" climate scientists! I've no idea why you would think such a thing  I have never claimed is this list is indicative of anything at all. If you wish to cite a palaeoclimatologist who is not on the list, please be my guest.

Get a grip. Understand humor. Understand when I refer to them as registered Climate Scientists[SUP]TM[/SUP] there is clue in the title!!!

I request you use you rown inititive and imagination.

That you don't get it shows something about you.

Correct! If one considered say an 8X increase in CH4 to 14,000 ppb might cause short term warming , but it would quickly breakdown into CO2.
That 14 ppm increase in CO2 would count as almost nothing.

No. Anyone who rules out something they don't fully understand is an idiot.

It's still pretty small.

A change from 1,803 ppb to 14,000 ppb of CH4 would be an approximate 1.07 W/m^2 in warming.

Your 8 x in CH4 is only a warming of 1.09 W/m^2, as a doubling of CH4 is only 0.364 W/m^2.

And even that would be greatly reduced as the CH4 broke down into CO2, as 14 ppm of added CO2
would only create .17 W/m^2. (5.35 X ln (424/410))

Plumbing is skilled work, here is why:

What Skills Do You Need to Be a Plumber?

Selected Excerpt:

Acquired Skills

Because plumbers are often required to make precise measurements, they should have a grasp of basic mathematics; a knowledge of geometry and algebra is also helpful. Plumbers should have adequate oral communication skills to speak with customers to gain an understanding of their plumbing problems and explain what needs to be done to resolve them. Knowing what tools, machines and methods are best for each situation means learning certain mechanical basics, such as whether a repair method will hold up to the water pressure to which it will be subjected or if a material can be safely cut with a specific tool. Certain jobs require the ability to read and follow blueprints to determine where pipes and equipment should go. Plumbers should also know the local codes that apply to various types of jobs so they can comply with the regulations.

You actually complimented him.

I know since I used to do plumbing maintenance, drinking fountain maintenance, the main full time daily job Irrigation design and maintenance.

Yet...

They insist CH4 is so much more powerful than CO2.

They are just ignorant of the true meaning of GWP and RE.

Wrong as usual. Only an idiot would believe that the Earth's atmosphere would turn into Venus's.

To be frack you don't need algebra. But you do need to be able to panic well.

There is nothing like plumbing for sudden vast stress to hit you when you are most hung over and you have to fix it NOW! Or the hospital will close after the opperating theaters below you flood.

You’re hungover a lot?

That really explains your posting.

I get it now.

Yet still a drunken plumber keeps making the arguments of a highly educated professional pharmacist look like they don't exist. Must be extremely frustrating for somebody who puts all the weight of an argument in the gravitas of the person making the case.

1, What do you think the weather will do that will be worse? I know that this may sound like I am asking for the obvious but when you start to say it and try to find evidence to support it you will see where I am going.

2, You should not talk about catastrophies, VenusII, that are simply not at ll possible in any way at all.

Go talk to those scientists.

Big deal. You claimed rightwingers were the ones who said about end of the world stuff by climate change, so youre wrong lol

Then why are you making it a big deal? Nobody really thinks the world is going to end soon, except the fundie nutjobs.

Did you read your cited article?

So no one actually hypothesized that will turn more and more into Venus, but it was used as yet another unsupported alarmist claim.
The Scientific reality is that CO2 has less and less effect as you add more, and have already pass the point of saturation
for it's central absorption wavelength. All that remains is a much lower absorption for the pressure broadening bands,
which have much weaker responses.

Yes I did. I was asked which scientists hypothesized the scenario and I provided.

Forget the atmosphere. How about the fact that Venus is 25,800,000 miles closer to the sun than Earth. ROFL! Only a complete moron would try to compare Venus, or any other planet, to Earth.

Indeed

Oh is that what he's claiming to be this week !

My guess is he's really 'Burger King' or lower :lamo

You're calling Stephen Hawking idiot? :lamo

So explain how 0.04% of our atmosphere could somehow become 92% of our atmosphere and how our Earth could be moved 25 million miles nearer the Sun in order to facilitate that eventuality ? :lamo

Again???????? This is like the Twilight Zone.
