You could insert any name, any ideology, or any party. Insert the same set of issues and behavior, and you would have the same set of issues.

For people like me, who know exactly who and what kind of a man Donald Trump is thirty years ago, these have been frightening times. Watching so many people sswept up in his Archie Bunkerish personality cult, and twisting themselves into pretzels imaginging rationalizations to dismiss his blatant corruption and criminality is a sorry spectacle indeed.

Trump has set all the precidents for a future tyrant to come in and finish off democracy in America. Trump won’t be that person. He is too lazy, too stupid, and far to weak to do that.

But the behavior of his followers, deep in the thrall of a cult of personality that would please any dictator, makes it clear that “it can happen here”.

If Trump goes unchecked, it will only be a matter of time.
You should write your representative and tell them that Congress is almost forcing an additional 4 years of Donald Trump, by their actions.

The effect of being religious does make you immune to other religions to some extent.

Trump's supporters will not follow a different loon. Democracy will be stronger for the test of the limits.
