With A Pinch Of Salt: Endless Failure Of Climate Doomsday Tales
Jun 23, 2019 ~~ By Vijay Jayaraj
On June 29, 2017, the Dailymail in UK(2020 is the deadline to avert climate catastrophe | Daily Mail Online) ran an article headlined “Four years to save the Earth: 2020 is the deadline to avert … It is a gentle reminder that we should take the doomsday claims with a pinch of salt. Neither are they scientifically accurate nor are they put through rigorous scrutiny before being disseminated to the masses.... How seriously should we treat the climate doomsday claims? ... It read, “using supercomputers to crunch through possible future outcomes has become a standard part of climate science in recent years … modelling studies indicate northern polar waters could be ice-free in … With a two-decade record of dismal failure in predicting temperatures,(https://science.house.gov/imo/media/doc/Christy Testimony_1.pdf?1#page=5) the model outputs can hardly be trusted as valid indicators of future climate. Other climate gaffes include the claims about the worsening of extreme weather events due to climate change.

In other news. So called Experts price per thousand has fallen below the price of Bovine Scat.
We survived "The Coming Ice Age" predicted by Jimmy Carter sitting in his cardigan sweaters in front of a blazing White House fireplace reminding us that unless we dramatically cut our use of fossil fuels, we'd freeze to death. All of the world's oil was going to be consumed by the '90's, and all of the world's natural gas would be gone by the turn of the century (2000) according to the elitist leftists and 'Climate Believers'. When the ice age hoax fell apart, the "Climate Believers' flipped 180 degrees and now global warming was going to kill us all.
First it was "Climate Cooling" then it switched to "Climate Warming" that included phony Hockey Stick graphs. I remember those days, too. Wasn't it Paul Erhlich who predicted global starvation by 2000? Why do people still believe anything these idiots say?
These climate change carnival barkers are able to push their hoax easily because of modern media and social media. Then combine that with a dumbed down populace and viola! The vehicle for total control. NONE of these dire predictions have come true unless they were going to happen anyway by nature. Disasters seem to be more intense because there are more people to see them and record them. Thereby intensifying hysteria. Thereby increasing control and regulation. People are stupid. What can I say. Then we have AOC with her latest prediction of Global Apocalypse in 12 years (now 11.4 yrs) pushing her Green New Deal that PMS/DSA Democrats have eaten it up with their silver spoons.

The "Climate change" crowd (used to be the global warming crowd) are all science deniers, denying evolution of the earth and life on it - with the arrogance to believe they can stop the fundamental forces of nature.
Thus, NONE ever dare discuss actually dealing with the evolution of life and the climate on earth whatsoever, because they believe they can so manipulate nature that they themselves have collectively become little gods. Since their beliefs are a secular loyalty belief system, it is irrelevant to them that every prediction for the last half century has been false. Their level of ignorance and even more their submissiveness is astonishing.

People who have studied environmental forums for years know there are certain interests with connections on the internet and have learned so by investigation. Russia loves global warming and says, bring it on, we want it and need it. If it has some bad effects for Russia, they can live with it and they don't care about the rest of the world. They meaning the leadership who solely set policy. Such is the logic of people who's ancestors spent the last thousands of years in a chit hole place on our planet. It's always the same bull**** tactics with the Ruskies, divide and conquer, as if other lands will ever teach them how to properly use their own. They can't even conquer themselves.

Republicans and so-called conservatives have a pay me and I'll do whatever mentality. The days of having core values are long gone.

Right-wing think tanks are worthless propaganda machines.

Rubert Murdoch's right-wing media and others are also worthless propaganda and it wouldn't surprise me to find them directly connected with Russia.

Koch Industries and similar things finance propaganda and buy politicians for it's special interests.

BTW, it's damn right dumb to claim a study on Milankovitch Cycles that was sensationalized in a magazine was a scientific consensus. If you were around, as you claim you were, you are lying. I was working in a Research Center while going to college full time, including taking a Geology level course in Physical Geography, a Biology level course in Invertebrate Paleontology and various Physical Science courses in '75, so I was exposed daily to many scientists and engineers from '70 onward and they didn't believe in a coming ice age. They believed CO2 would eventually cause warming and some were studying it way ahead of time. The science magazine article was considered hype.

Yes, it does seem that they believe we are God-like in the power against nature.

I am guessing you have not seen the
National academy of Science report from which many of the articles were based

It is not primarily the advance of a major ice sheet over our farms and cities that we must fear,
devastating as this would be, for such changes take thousands of years to evolve.
Rather, it is persistent changes of the temperature and rainfall in areas com-
mitted to agricultural use, changes in the frost content of Canadian and Siberian soils,
and changes of ocean temperature in areas of high nutrient production,
for example, that are of more immediate concern.

What is your point? Is there some reason you can't write it clearly, besides being intentionally vague?

People have been concerned about permafrost destruction for much longer than 6 years. Sitting down in the wrong place at the wrong time to have a smoke break can give a person a haircut like they've never experienced in their lives.

That's mindless rhetoric.

The idea in the 1970's that we could be entering another ice age, was not simply magazine covers.
It was a valid concern that had published scientific reports!
For roughly 80% of the last 800,000 years, our planet has been in a glacial period, with only short inter glacial periods,
of less than 20,000 years. Our current inter glacial, is roughly 12,000 years old, so it would not be unreasonable
to assume the next ice age could start any time.
BTW the National academy of Science report was not about permafrost destruction, but crop failures.

Any time someone brings up any of these reasons, as to deny the data, I know they are deniers of science.

Political type propaganda over science.

You deny science!

You can take that bull**** science is biased game and shove it in the bandwagon tRump and you road in on. Your kind always posts personal attacks, because you have no science to post. Oh gee, someone believes adding greenhouse gases warms the Earth, how can someone think like that?

Hmmm. The only poster here who routinely avoids substance to engage in content-free insults is you.

That's a lie and you know it. Just more mindless rhetoric that will get you ignored. If you clowns ever post something worth commenting on, I can do so without even acknowledging your existence. You're just a forum troll.

I'd be checking IP addresses on this site.

I retaliate in kind.

What does it say when people like you constantly say things like tRump?

You are a hypocrite.

So tell me, what quantum energy state would be required for CO2 to not absorb the 15 um photons that it needs to absorb
within the concept of AGW?
15 um, can also be expressed as 667 cm-1.

Sorry, but it's not a lie.

Politicians on both sides lie.

Not really anything new.

[h=1]Listening to climate doomsters makes our situation worse[/h][FONT=&quot]Reposted from Fabius Maximus Website Larry Kummer, Editor Summary: Climate science shows how America assimilates information, assesses threats, and allocate resources. We do it poorly. Doomsters are part of the problem. We can make the climate policy debate better informed and less divisive by ignoring doomsters. “Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and…
