Newest CIMP6 climate models showing ECS on the order of 5 degrees C

We can't with any usable accuracy. Not until we understand all significant variables at a "high levels of understanding."

As it stands, their methods are no better than playing a 4 spot Keno.

Anyone claiming accuracy to any usable degree is very, very arrogant.

Yes. I’m sure you find a blog complaining about it.

Guess they are just too lazy to actually publish a critique. Or maybe it’s the giant conspiracy stopping them,

Admitting mistakes in a ‘hostile environment’

by Judith Curry Reflections on Nic Lewis’ audit of the Resplandy et al. paper.

". . . This blog post by Gavin provides a sense of the ‘hostile environment’ faced by independent scientists who evaluate climate science papers. Scientists should welcome discussion of their research and being pointed to any errors. Disagreement should be the spice of academic life; this is what drives science forward. However, when a political agenda and careerism enters into the equation, we have a different story. For an overview of the really hostile environment faced by McIntyre and McKitrick re the hockey stick, see Andrew Montford’s book The Hockey Stick Illusion. . . . "

And what blog did you pull that out of?

I see no credible source link. Actually, no link at all.

It’s from Gavin Schmidt- head of GISS.

Again... you don’t know what it is... but you know it’s wrong!

Deniers gonna deny

You warmers are funny. You keep automatically believing every Al Gore Rhythm showing catastrophe that they come out with. You need to keep in mind that global temperate forecasts are going to be very inaccurate until they have a high level of understanding of all the variables involved, and implement all the variables.

A 5 degree C rise would be catastrophic. My guess is that the next IPCC report will offer a mid-range between 2.5 and 4.5, instead of the current 1.5 to 3.5. As each year of warming continues, and new top 10 warmest years occur on a regular basis, the degree of confidence in the models continues to be greater and greater.
