This is what happens when EPA regulations are turned back

Nice cut & paste job, but you aren't going into the nuts and bolts of anything.

The EPA isn't going any wheres and the agency can still shut you down at the point of a gun.
Or the point of a pen, which can be much more painful. ;)

If you don't care about clean air to breathe or clean water to drink, fish and swim in, why not come right out and say so?
If you can discuss issues without resorting to over-emotional mantras and hollow talking points why not do it? Oh, just noticed your lean. Never mind, I'm asking the impossible.

[h=1]Court declares Obama’s EPA “Waters of the United States Rule” unlawful[/h][FONT=&quot]From Legal Insurrection Posted by Leslie Eastman Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 7:30pm “…vast expansion of jurisdiction over waters and land traditionally within the states’ regulatory authority cannot stand…” Back in 2015, we covered the Obama administration’s far-reaching Waters of the United States (WOTUS) Rule and the pushback it received at the time. A little bit of information in regards to the EPA

First, from the rightie website, Washington Examiner.
Success: EPA set to reduce staff 50% in Trump's first term Jan 2018

The Environmental Protection Agency, seen by President Trump as a bloated bureaucratic whale, is on schedule to fulfill his promise to reduce its staff nearly in half by the end of his first term mostly through retirements, not cuts, according to officials.

The EPA Tuesday provided to Secrets its first year staff results which show that the agency is below levels not seen since former President Reagan’s administration.

And if just those slated to retire by early 2021 leave, Administrator Scott Pruitt and his team will have reduced a staff of nearly 15,000, to below 8,000, or a reduction of 47 percent.

I so luv me some conservative hypocrisy. Scott Pruitt was out as head of the EPA by July, 2018 following inquiries and accusations about his expenses for housing, security details and increased pay for political appointees. What "hypocrisy" you may ask. Oh, the little bit about saving taxpayer dollars when talking about the cuts to EPA staff numbers and enforcement actions.
“We’re proud to report that we’re reducing the size of government, protecting taxpayer dollars and staying true to our core mission of protecting the environment,” Pruitt said in a statement to Secrets.

An ethics cloud hung over Pruitt for months, as lawmakers from both parties, environmental groups and government watchdogs raised questions about his spending, housing arrangements, security team and raises for political appointees.

Second, from the librul Washington Post
Under Trump, EPA inspections fall to a 10-year low Feb 2019

The agency’s inspection rate last year is half of what it was in 2010, while the civil penalties levied against polluters is the lowest since 1994.

Under President Trump, the Environmental Protection Agency inspected fewer industrial facilities during 2018 than at any time over the past decade, according to data released by the agency Friday.

The sharp drop in inspections and evaluations last fiscal year — to roughly 10,600 — is only half the number EPA conducted at its peak in 2010, and continues a downward trend that began in 2012. Other enforcement activities at the agency experienced similar declines, according to EPA figures: The number of civil cases the division started and completed in 2018 hit a 10-year low, and the $69 million in civil penalties it leveled represents the lowest in nearly a quarter-century.

So what?

If you don't care about clean air to breathe or clean water to drink, fish and swim in, why not come right out and say so?

If you don't care about the truth, why don't you come out and say so.

The fact is that the EPA was not doing its job during the Obama administration. Their job consists of monitoring air, soil and water for contamination and taking steps to ensure that all three are clean enough for use. Part of that involves checking sites on request and rendering a ruling or a variance. This was supposed to take no more than 90 days and often stretched to years. It appears that many EPA investigators considered this sort of mundane work beneath their dignity. Instead they were trying to extend the reach of the EPA into cattle flatulence as a source of carbon emissions, for example.

I understand you want an EPA that provides clean air and water, but you should also want it when a Democrat is in the White House. Anything else is hypocrisy.

Yes, during the Obama years, inspections did decline after 2010 but much of that was due to budget cuts. Now with staffing cuts and ongoing budget cuts, enforcement actions have dropped to their lowest level since the Reagan years.

Funny, Obama's 2014 Climate Action Plan doesn't mention cow farts. You can read it for yourself -- if you wish. https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/sites/default/files/image/president27sclimateactionplan.pdf

And now that all of those desk jockeys and Deep State types are leaving the EPA, you don't have to worry about taxpayer dollars being wasted on "cattle flatulence reduction plans" [/sarcasm] You should, however, worry about taxpayer dollars being spent by the President and his multiple "acting" officials as they fly off to golfing holidays and visits with their big-money donors.

Climate plan. That was another one. What has climate change to do with breathable air?
