I'm not particularly surprised. Are you?

Globally, 5th warmest on record. I expect July will hit a similar record, given the news lately.
June 2018 was 5th warmest on record for the globe | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

• The average global temperature in June was 1.35 degrees F above the 20th-century average of 59.9 degrees.
• The year-to-date average global temperature was 1.39 degrees F above average of 56.3 degrees. This is 0.52 degree lower than the record high set in 2016 for the same YTD period.
• Arctic and Antarctic ice averages are below normal

For the US-only, 3rd warmest on record
June 2018 ranks third warmest on record for U.S. | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Of course, 1 month is not a trend, nor in isolation does this prove that the planet is warming. However, it's yet another data point, and I expect we'll be seeing results like this a lot moving forward.

I guess we can expect those category 6 hurricanes that algore and the rest of the nutjobs promised?

And this, as I mentioned on another thread, in the absence of an El Niño and during a period of very low solar activity.

Actually 2018 is shaping up to be a fairly modest year.
The first 6 months average for 2018 with GISS is .82 compared to ,
2017 .96
2016 1.10
2015 .82
So while it is about the building about the same as 2015, the El-nino started in Oct of 2015, so Oct, Nov, and Dec were disproportionately high.
If 2018 continues at the current rate, it will be slightly warmer than 2014.

2014 was, at the time, the hottest year on record. It is currently 4th hottest on record.

2018 could be the 3rd hottest year on record. That's your idea of "modest?"

We are, and have been warming, saying this is warmer than earlier is meaningless.
If 2018 ends up being a little warmer than 2014, then yes the warming is modest.

Odd.

I keep hearing about how ‘it’s cooling’ on these threads.

As this OP demonstrates, cooling continues.

2018 will be cooler than 2017, which was cooler than 2016.
Short of another El Nino, that is very likely,
The first 6 months of 2018 average is quite a bit below 2016 or 2017

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it.

and thanks to Trump- it's going to get even better.

So as far as the OP goes ->>>> :failpail:

LOL.

Your ‘IPCC Model’ on the graph is already higher than observed temps...five years after the first IPCC was convened!

That must be an especially derpy denier site you cribbed that from.
