Alternate energy and the boost of hydrocarbons.

The abandonment of nuclear power was a step backward.
I do wish people understood that without some other major advance in technology, nuclear power is absolutely
necessary to our future.

It sure was. But the majority of voters in the USA are ignorant to the people and policies they support come election time. Our government is what we elect.

I don't know about necessary, but they better not complain about fossil fuels in the meantime.

I really don't think we do the things we need to do, with fossil fuels alone,
but they can fill the gap until we get the nuclear, or whatever solution is better online.

The problem with nuclear is that it is not longer cost effective. With added regulations, it is too expensive. I'll bet older plants don't have to implement all new standards if any, until their 40 or 50 year license is up..
