Since 2016 there has been a sharp drop in global temperatures, and with the sun approaching minimum there's every prospect the cooling will continue for some time. Despite the denialism of AGW zealots this will inevitably affect the ongoing climate debate and further undermine the already-tottering AGW paradigm. Henrik Svensmark, whose prediction of cooling now seems to have been merely early rather than wrong, is waiting in the wings.

Don’t Tell Anyone, But We Just Had Two Years Of Record-Breaking Global Cooling

Inconvenient Science: NASA data show that global temperatures dropped sharply over the past two years. Not that you’d know it, since that wasn’t deemed news. Does that make NASA a global warming denier?

Writing in Real Clear Markets, Aaron Brown looked at the official NASA global temperature data and noticed something surprising. From February 2016 to February 2018, “global average temperatures dropped by 0.56 degrees Celsius.” That, he notes, is the biggest two-year drop in the past century.
“The 2016-2018 Big Chill,” he writes,“was composed of two Little Chills, the biggest five month drop ever (February to June 2016) and the fourth biggest (February to June 2017). A similar event from February to June 2018 would bring global average temperatures below the 1980s average.
Isn’t this just the sort of man-bites-dog story that the mainstream media always says is newsworthy?
In this case, it didn’t warrant any news coverage. . . .

No, but the news release you linked is an effort to hide what's happening. Temperatures are going down. The fact that they're still higher (for now) than a baseline figure is just statistical sleight-of-hand.

Okay well, they aren't going down. Sorry if you believe that. Its simply not true.

First, the first website is not NASA. Second, it would be helpful if you looked at the data you linked before stating something as misinformed. Look at the actual data and you will see that what you stated is simply, not true. Using 2016 as a benchmark for cooling is statistically poor. The overall trend of temperatures shows us that temperatures are indeed increasing. Sorry if you don't understand basic statistics or methods of collecting data.

This will not be solved by hysterical Deniers.

The scientists will work it out.

At the moment:

According to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, "We conclude there has been no reduction in the global warming trend of 0.15 (to) 0.20ºC (per) decade that began in the late 1970s."

Michael Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, called the analysis solid.

"Essentially he's just pointing out that we've come out of this short-term, relatively cool period," Mann said. "The globe clearly continues to warm."

Mann said many claims of global cooling are spurious and "intellectually dishonest."

I really cannot believe that accusation of dishonesty. Just because they've spewed dishonest crap a thousand times before, why would we expect more?????

Sorry this doesn't work with the video frame here, but it is worth a look for the chuckles, watch the kid in the yellow t-shirt

Nope. 2017 was cooler than 2016, and 2018 is on its way to being cooler still. With the sun approaching minimum, this should continue for quite a while.

A two year period is not a scientific or statistical piece of data.

That depends on the hypothesis that sets your frame of reference. If you believe that rising temperature has been driven by GHGs then yes, the long term trend is powerful evidence. If, however, you believe as I do that rising temperature was largely misattributed to GHGs and was instead more closely tied to solar activity and the solar/GCR flux then a sharp change as the sun approaches minimum is not only unsurprising, but expected. The replacement of one paradigm by another is at the core of Thomas Kuhn's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. Welcome to the revolution.

Well, if you believe like you do, you're wrong. Sorry.

Authoritative but empty assertions are often the first reaction of defenders of a dying paradigm.

If you don't want to believe in science, thousands of scientists, and years of studies and data what else can I tell you?

You're on the side of John Hagee.

Sorry, but I don't know who that is. My taste runs to Professor Henrik Svensmark of the Danish Technical University and Professor Nir Shaviv, Chairman of the Raccah Institute for Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Svensmark had the great insight that led to cosmoclimatology and may lead on to a Nobel Prize. Shaviv has been his most significant ally, and in 2015 was the IBM Einstein Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study.

I will continue to believe the vast majority of quality scientists and data. You can choose to stay ignorant on the subject for whatever your reasoning may be.

You can keep quoting people in ways that make you look correct. The simple fact is, you aren't. Sorry.
