Yes. Liberals have been waiting since 2005 to get a big hurricane they could blame on global warming. So desperate were they that some blamed the LACK of hurricanes on global warming. Now they are back to claiming weather is climate. The first big cold snap this winter and they will be back to claiming the opposite. More liberal humor I guess.

Yeah, I'll concede your point. All major storms are definitely historically significant. What I meant was, I don't think Irma will be significantly stronger than other storms in the historical record.

A new study by researchers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration finds that the world's warming never really stalled during the last 15 years—it was just masked by incomplete data records that have been improved and expanded in recent years.

"The rate of temperature increase during the last half of the 20th century is virtually identical to that of the 21st century," said Tom Karl, director of NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information and lead author of the study.

The research, published in the peer-reviewed journal Science this week, is just the latest in a growing number of studies refuting the idea of a slowdown or stop in global warming.

Let me get this straight. In this amount of time, you have done the scientific thing, ie. searched out the said paper in the peer reviewed journal, read it, then researched for other peer reviewed science that disputes, read them all, and formulated a well thought out scientific based response.

But yet your response to this article about that peer reviewed article is just another right wing meme. And you wonder why you folks of the ID bent never get any respect.

I actually noticed the climate changing in the '70s. I used to call it "funny weather". One of the straw men that climate change deniers use is to say that since predicted consequences haven't happened yet, the phenomenon doesn't exist. They ignore the trends that point to the that point to the expected results.

I was talking about a years long cycle of strong hurricane seasons, followed by years of weaker seasons. It's only deniers who want to talk about the last couple of weeks. You included.
