once upon a time in a land not so far away a POTUS utilized fake news for propaganda, even when he called out certain news sources for fake news ..........

The scale starts with a Category 1, which ranges from 74 to 95 mph.
A Category 5 storm has winds of 156 mph or stronger.
Irma had wind sustained win speed topping 185 mph just two days ago.

An extrapolation of the scale suggests that if a Category 6 were created, it would be in the range of 176-196 mph. Which means, Irma was the first candidate known to man to sustain those types of wind speeds for such a long time.

Hurricane Wilma, in 2005, had top winds of 175 mph.

The fact that Irma has lasted longer with sustained Cat 5 wind speed ... this is entirely different than anything known to Man and is already re-writing the Record-books.

so, would that make Irma a Category 5+?

she's wider than Florida according to Gov. Scott; maybe she's a 42D ..................

I never saw a source claiming a literal category 6... I saw multiple people saying it's in a league of it's own, like the biggest on record... saying that if there was a category 6 it would be in it(saying this metaphorically)

I didn't see anyone claiming it is a literal category 6 and that there is such a thing.... maybe people took the above for literal and started repeating it.

Are you lacking in sense of humor, or do you not know what the "razz" emoticon is?

And which "guys" are "you guys", and why are you attempting to typecast me with them?

The "Great Red Spot" on Jupiter is an anticyclonic storm. About 2-3 times the size of the Earth, this storm has been continuously spinning for ~187 years with wind speeds of up to 425 mph.
