I will refrain from saying anything that would ding me, as most of my initial replies would probably inflict a 10 pointer on me. I will disagree with you in the most solid of terms. Georgia is small, it's muggy and you have terrible sports teams.
This storm is going to kill people and Hays needs to pre-politicize it.
The bad rain bands appear to have mostly finished in my area (SE Houston) we ended up with about 8" of rain.
We did not loose power, and trees and fences are ok.
It really looks like most people in dangerous areas left.
The last big rain we had here, my daughters Acura she loved ended up under water. She's been living with he boyfriend for the last several years, and his house itself was almost flooded. The water came to about one foot under the top of the foundation. This was the high spot of his property, and my daughters car was parked at a lower elevation. This was in a low spot of the storm sewer system, and they simply backed up as it was raining faster than the sewer systems flow capacity.
Now if land use changes haven't covered over 90% of the land with building, concrete, and asphalt... There might not of been such flooding, and the soil absorbed the water.
Damned thing missed SA for the most part. Wind, rain but I don't think I heard but one rumble of thunder!
I guess I'm supposed to know what "SA" stands for.
I had to search the thread to figure out that SA = San Antonio. I was pretty sure it wasn't South America.
Dunno do people think that using acronyms makes them look smart? Sometimes you just have to live with
the BS (this webpage won't accept the word otherwise I'd spell it out), look up the list of aviation acronyms
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aviation,_aerospace_and_aeronautical_abbreviations
sometime, but for ordinary stuff there isn't any really good reason for doing it.
OK - Rant over
I know the METAR and Taf codes for most of the places around Texas and how to look then up. I was an air traffic controller and later Aviation meteorologist. I was posting on my phone And it was quicker. Sorry I didn't write SAT. Sheesh. Also it says SAN ANTONIO UNDER MY NAME
Yeah, typing on an IPhone is a challenge.
You can usually get METAR "translations" if you're not familiar with some of the insane abbreviations like BR = Mist.
I have a few relatives in San Antonio she says they are fine.
Just checked the radar

looks like SA is just north-west of the center of rotation but not so much rain - not so east Texas on the Gulf.
Yep, just got windy here, it's rained but nothing amazing. I wanted that system to go SW of us before turning, the NE quad is the best place for rain... hopefully the aquifier got a good dose.
My sister between SA and Austin said they got quite a bit of rain.
I am waiting for it to leave. It JUST missed us here, I mean, it spun and spun and spun but missed the city proper.
I am waiting for it to leave.
People who say Houston's flood control is inadequate, do not understand how much rain has fallen.
the system is working great!
Yes Panic helps nothing, and while it has rained a lot, it is not the end of the world. The previous record was in the 70's in Medina Texas like 48" from a TS. This is an unusual event and people like to panic, panic is easy. Not effective, but easy.
