Fake news
Was the coldest May where I live. April was about average.
It might surprise you that that ball has actually been burning cooler for decades now.
NOAA's Climate at a Glance shows an interesting result for May.
Makes you kind of wonder about the validity of the 2nd Hottest claim:

Makes me kind of wonder why you think the US is the entire world. But I know stuff like that confuses you.
Looks like the data is in, and May was the second hottest on record, exceeded only by 2016.
HotWhopper: Second hottest May on record
I guess i can add that April was also the second hottest April on record.
Climate Change: Vital Signs of the Planet: April 2017 was second-warmest April on record
Oh. And March.. also the second hottest.

That followed February, also the... well.. you get the picture.

Of course, since its only the runner up, that must mean the earth is cooling! Amirite, deniers?
Yes, we are in the middle of a warming trend that has been going on for perhaps 300 years, and so recent months tend to be warmer.
The question remains what is causing that and what, if anything, we can do about it that is feasible and effective.
No it's not the entire world, but the United States has very good weather records
that go back for well over 100 years. The rest of the world mostly doesn't to the
point that the climate "scientists" can adjust their models to poop out just about any
temperature they want for the 1930s. And we all know what sorts of temperature
curves they want to have their models produce.
Thanks for the local weather report.
Those who understand the science realize that temperature will lag CO2... and that there are annual variations in temperatures which can still result in long-term upward trends.
...which is why we look at long-term trends, which indicate increasing temperatures.
This discussion is about global temperatures.
Maybe the local weather posts have confused you.
There isn't a nice site like NOAA's Climate at a Glance for global temperatures.
There isn't one most likely because the data isn't there in the detail that exists
for the United States. What passes for data that says that May is the hottest
ever is probably the result of computer modeling for most of the world outside
of the U.S. Here's a one minute You Tube that illustrates the point:
We are told:
A red dot represents a station reporting incomplete data for the year shown. And we know the bias climate "scientists" have. Besides that, if you watched the video
As a result, climate scientists had to estimate the station's annual temperature
for that year.
you've no doubt noticed that at the end of the video most of the land area other than the
United States has no dots. So how do your so-called climate "Scientists" know that May
Maximum temperatures increased over the decades when the U.S. stations says they
didn't?
I think I'll go with them ...
... over you, Mr Denier.
Right- because 2016 was the warmest year ever recorded by far.
And I predict 2017 will be the NEW hottest year EVER... until 2018, after that it will be 2019, and then 2020... every year will always be the next hotterest year. ALWAYS, FOREVER.. hot. Hotter and hotterest.
Wrong again.
Doesn't it ever get tiring for you?
2017 will almost certainly not be as warm as 2016.
And I predict 2017 will be the NEW hottest year EVER... until 2018, after that it will be 2019, and then 2020... every year will always be the next hotterest year. ALWAYS, FOREVER.. hot. Hotter and hotterest.
12:45 and its 109, going to hit 117 today....
Tomorrow is going to be worse
It's also only around 2% of the Earth's surface. No it's not the entire world, but the United States has very good weather records
that go back for well over 100 years.
...or, not. Measurements these days are made with a combination of atmospheric (satellites/balloons), oceanic and terrestrial sources, that all have to meet international standards. The rest of the world mostly doesn't to the point that the climate "scientists" can adjust their models to poop out just about any
temperature they want for the 1930s.
We are looking at a high of 120 on Tuesday. Its ramping up all week, 107 today, then 110, 114, 117....
Glad I got a pool, and a new efficient A/C unit...
Or, there may not be a viable correlation between global temperatures and solar cycles for about a century now.Actually, if the sun remains on it's predicted path of cooling, we should see cooler temperatures in some later year. How long the lag time will be is hard for me to speculate though.
