If you want to know what the Trump Administration thinks of our public lands, just look at the BLM Flickr page.

Prior to the Trump Admin, the BLM Flickr stream was a showcase of beautiful landscapes and iconic animals on our public lands.

For example, here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mypubliclands/32604113543/

Or here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mypubliclands/31828924941/

Now, the Trump Admin has turned it into a showcase of strip mining and extraction industries.

For example here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mypubliclands/33895351165/

Or here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mypubliclands/33545780762/

If you go to pornhub you can see the Trump Admin's video playlist of them them blowing mining industry lobbyists.

Finally, yes, of course one of the roles of public land is for oil and mineral leases where appropriate, but that they think this is the soul purpose of our public lands is sickening.

Jobs, economic growth... the problem is?

Your disingenuous contentions are eminently deserving of dismissal.

Here is the actual BLM Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mypubliclands/albums

You are accusing me of being disingenuous, and you show a flickr page for the BLM that is not chronological. It is a collection of all the albums, not the current photo stream. So the albums you are all seeing is from the Obama Admin BLM.

The link I provided, https://www.flickr.com/photos/91981596@N06/

Is chronological, you will notice that every single picture the Trump BLM has posted is of mining or other forms of resource extraction.

Funny. I looked at the link you provided. Yep. top of the screen shows mining, oil&g, etc.
But just a bit down from that. Oh look, scenic shots with no mining, recreation shots, wildlife. etc.

Your post narrative is a way bit biased.

You are missing the point.

Those scenic shots, look at the date on them, they are all from the Obama years. The only thing the Trump Admin has put up are pictures of resource extraction.

Images in a flickr photo stream are organized by the date and time they were uploaded. Scroll down far enough and you eventually get to the first photo ever uploaded years ago.

So you think strip mining should be the sole purpose of public lands. You don't think any should be preserved for stuff like hiking, fishing, hunting, etc...?

Actually, there should be no public lands. All land should be privately owned.

We can only imagine what we as a Nation would have lost last century without progress---ive President Theodore Roosevelt saving our National Parks from the crooked crony capitalistic gilded wing of his party. That's why he's on Mount Rushmore. Thank you TR .

Lincoln and Roosevelt wish to disagree with you. No public land to private billionaires to rape for profit. Thankfully, we had philanthropists like Rockefeller to buy up land between the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and donate it .

Why do you think that? You don't think the government is doing a good job of taking care of it? Do you think the government is good at doing anything?

Libertarianism is completely incompatible with conservation. Applying libertarian principles to conservation would be like trying to give a presentation on web development while speaking in Latin.

Zinke will be crucified when he goes back to Montana. Look for this decision, already being walked back, to have a big effect on the Montana-at large CD election 5/25 .

Questions for you? Do you believe the oil and gas wells were installed in the last 90 days? Yes or No

Uploading a photo into an album with that date stamp has nothing to do with when the image was taken. I also see no date stamp on the photos. Where are you seeing the date stamp?

Hint for you. Read NEPA. Then get back to me. Major mining operations takes years to complete an EIS.

Actually I don't.

They have royally mismanaged the lands, they're keeping logging rates far below sustainable levels, they're not permitting ranchers to raise enough cattle to remain profitable. They are not permitting fires to burn and clear out the stored fuel in the form of underbrush, which results in these superhot dangerous burns, they're closing off access to swaths of land by gating roads, which in turn increases vandalism and poaching and other crimes in the land because it reduces traffic. and we have a misguided policy of protecting old growth forests instead of permitting new healthier forests to take their place. they repeatedly fail to even make a profit off of running public lands when there is so much resource potential!

You make a lot of sense. I agree much more could be done to clear out the dangerous growth that contributes to making forest fires much worse than they should be!

There are plenty of pre-Trump photos of mining and such. I dont think that Trump is personally choosing what is being posted.

That being said I do get your point and I am sure that is all that Trump see's in our public lands. After all it is land and Trump is a real estate tycoon. Most real estate people see empty land as opportunity.

People lack perspective, There is far far more lands for "hiking and wildlife" than is being used for industry.

Then we agree.

Do you have something against miners? Most of the BLM land here in California is barren and not good for much else. If there were anything special about it, it would be part of a National Park or Monument.

Of course he isn't choosing what is getting posted, but it's indicative of the priorities of the kind of people his administration has at the Department of Interior.

Of course the operations are not new. The feed is chronological. It seems to be pretty indicative of the priorities of Trump's Department of the Interior that mining and extraction are all they thus far have posted.

1. More roads leads to more fires and more vandalism. The easier it is to get into an area, the easier it is to dump trash, vandalize, poach and so on.

2. The notion that old growth forests are somehow inherently less healthy is about as unscientific as it gets.

3. What kills the cattle industry in high desert regions is the exponentially more productive cattle industry in the plains states and midwest.
