Glad you posted this. The protestors betrayed their stated cause. So, are they just pigs, had an agenda other than their stated one, or both? And yes, I'm precluding the possibility that they aren't pigs because the evidence proves they in fact are.

Why were these people not charged? We are going to be out the policing costs because we believe strongly in the right to protest, but this is abuse of the majority right here.

Another major bald faced lie was told, it's just another day in America.

Yep. A little more focus on what actually happened there and not what the protestors claim would be refreshing.

I think many protesters simply want to look compassionate and heroic without actually realizing the details of what they're protesting or the commitment involved in behaving in a manner that's in line with what they're protesting. The end result is a net negative because they appear to he hypocrites.

From failed journalists? Really? I admire how you never give up on them.

They are what we have. I hope they'll find some integrity and report the truth at some point. Obviously those media folks cited in the OP did.

You are a ray of sunshine in my morning, THANK YOU. I myself am getting pessimistic, as low as I have been rating those people who have been running America the last year has informed me that I was way too optimistic.

...along with all the toxins that burning the tents and other items left behind, the crushed soil that will be years (possibly decades) in recovering. The costs alone is ridiculous and the protesters should be sued by the fed. gov't for the cost of the cleanup.

If they had been paid to clean up too maybe they would have cleaned up ... maybe.
Probably wasn't in the agreement.
Those things might all be verbal.
Best not to put anything on paper.

What Federal Government Clean Up ... The GOP thinks that's not needed.

No, what the Trump Party thinks is that the government has been steadily increasing its power for decades by hook or crook, with "SAFETY!" being its #1 ALL PURPOSE argument, that under Obama this assault on the American People was vastly escalated, and that if we dont chop it back severely right now then we will surely sure lose the ability to retain command over it....the Administrative State as Bannon calls it gets the knife.

You are welcome.

Or to pay in full before the job's finished.

Most of the protesters were flown or bussed in. Protesting is an industry. Many were nice, some incredibly naive, others completely full of crap and combative with a free press and claimed they had legal authority where they did not. The reasons for the protest evolved time and time again, to the point where, for many, it was clear they get off to the idea of protesting for the sake of protesting. When the tribe had enough (finally), it took far too much effort to get rid of the riff-raff.

If anything, I would say the protest made matters far worse with community relations.

Why would you sue thousands of wanderers?

The cost was accrued by the state, which was already in a budget crisis and a recession, and by law has to balance its budget. The feds left it to the state to solve.

The state is looking to sue the federal government for well over $31 million, and rightly so.

Plenty have been charged over the course of the protest movement, and it's an ongoing investigation. But it's not always clear you're going to find those who set the building on fire that exploded and harmed kids.

As far as the fires are concerned, they occurred without police in the camp, where all others were present. This meant that propane tanks exploded with men, women, kids, and media present.

I had family there that day and was thankful they were not hurt.

During the occupy movement I got the idea that folks were going to get accused of being menaces to society know matter how well they did to self police the demonstration, but the people who demonstrate on the claim (it was a lie) that the goal is to save the planet have an imperative to do this task as well as Burning Man does.

Seems like they failed.
