Global Warming Scare - Past Tense

Corruption has gotten too easy.

When the institutions that are supposed to protect the gates of science buy into undermining those gates, this is what we get. It's easy to see in the Climategate scandal. The British government claimed to have looked into it, and found nothing significant. That's a tacit endorsement of flat out making up data to suit a prescribed conclusion. So here we are, cast into skepticism by the institutions who's existence was established to avoid that very thing.

The only "science" there is with regards to global warming is "political science":

1. Is there climate change? Of course. That is not in dispute. The earth has warmed and cooled through 5 ice ages and millions of years and will continue to do so, with or without "man".
2. Is there global warming? Maybe, maybe not. But it is a normal phenomenon of the earth we live on and I say we will adapt as man has done for thousands of years living in all sorts of extreme climate conditions.
3. I do think that when "scientists" fudge data, I have a tendency to think they have another agenda or motive.
4. When I hear stories from many corners that data has been manipulated, you have to ask yourself why? Much of the supposed "data" supporting global warming comes from the government either through their employees or from those who receive research grants. And we know the government desperately wants you to believe in manmade global warming. So, do I think “scientists” will be unbiased in their research when their jobs or grant money comes from the government? Probably not. Do I think they will fudge data to maintain their government jobs? Absolutely. Will research scientists fudge data to keep the grant money flowing? Absolutely.
5. Actually, if the earth is warming, it would mean longer growing seasons and that would be a huge benefit for everyone.
6. So, bottom line, do I think that a government that would lie to me on an issue as important as healthcare also lie to me about manmade global warming? Absolutely!

Ah Climategate ... good times.
These are some of my favorites ...

Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get – and has to be well hidden,
“I’ve discussed this with the main funder (U.S. Dept of Energy) in the past and they are happy about not releasing the original station data.” – Phil Jones

Mike, can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith [Briffa] re AR4 [UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 4th Assessment]?” “Keith will do likewise. … We will be getting Caspar [Ammann] to do likewise. I see that CA [the Climate Audit Web site] claim they discovered the 1945 problem in the Nature paper!!” – Phil Jones to Mike Mann

“I’ve been told that IPCC is above national FOI [Freedom of Information] Acts. One way to cover yourself and all those working in AR5 would be to delete all emails at the end of the process,” - Phil Jones

“The trick may be to decide on the main message and use that to guide what’s included and what is left out” - Jonathan Overpeck

I gave up on Judith Curry a while ago. I don’t know what she thinks she’s doing, but its not helping the cause,” - Mike Mann

“I have been talking w/ folks in the states about finding an investigative journalist to investigate and expose Steve McIntyre” – Mike Mann

“Observations do not show rising temperatures throughout the tropical troposphere unless you accept one single study and approach and discount a wealth of others. This is just downright dangerous. We need to communicate the uncertainty and be honest. Phil, hopefully we can find time to discuss these further if necessary,” - Peter Thorne

“I also think the science is being manipulated to put a political spin on it which for all our sakes might not be too clever in the long run,” - Pete Thorne

“Mike, The Figure you sent is very deceptive … there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model results by individual authors and by IPCC, - Tom Wigley

“Also, it is important for us if you can transfer the … money on the personal accounts which we gave you earlier and the sum for one occasion transfer (for example, during one day) will not be more than 10,000 United States Dollars. Only in this case we can avoid big taxes...” - Stepan Shiyatov to Keith Briffa

yeah ... nothing to see here ... all very innocent ... move along.
