The weekend ratings are out, and they aren’t good news for Leonardo DiCaprio’s Global Warming Epic ‘Before the Flood‘, which we reviewed yesterday on WUWT. Showbuzz Daily has listed the top 150 TV and Cable programs for the weekend, and in ‘the hottest year ever’, discussing the ‘most important topic ever’, Before the Flood came in at #61 for the weekend.

I mean, who wouldn’t want to tune in and have a jet-setting actor-millionaire, a government handout beneficiary, a Pope, the globe-trotting Secretary of State, the lame-duck president, the ‘Horndog-in-Chief” and the leader of the U.N. come on for 96 minutes and berate you for doing things like driving your car, eating hamburgers, and just not caring enough about the planet like they do while looking down on us from their private planes?

The majority of folks don't like those types of movies. At least "The day after tomorrow" had action in it.

I have not been able to watch all of it yet, but I would argue that the "dismal ratings" are more political in nature over viewership.

If I understand this right we are comparing something that can be seen more on demand against more scheduled programming and then suggesting "ratings" is poor. Besides just the scheduled showings of the 'Before the Flood' there is also the availability of the clip on YouTube with well over 5 million views already.

I do not buy the way the article tried to downplay the clip's viewership.

In the same way Iraq War movies fared poorly during the Iraq War, any political movie about current events likewise tend to do poorly.

I never watch movies where celebrities preach about the years worth of research they've done on a topic that generally requires advanced degrees to fully understand. It's really annoying.

I love it - Americans saying to these money mongering actors that they are tired of their condescension and opinions being rammed down our throats. Amy Schumer just released from her contract with Bud Light and now bad reviews for DeCaprio's movie. I hear the lead from Breaking Bad will move to Canada when Trump becomes President.

I've said this time and again that these actors only have one vote like the rest of us. It is the money of the American people that pays your salaries so it might be wise to remember that in the future as you continue to degrade those very people. Since this election, I've made several strong decisions to impact how I spend my money and who gets a share of it. Target (seldom visit), Schumer, Hanks, DeCaprio, Clooney to name a few and recently Megan Kelley. It doesn't matter to me what others do but our money and support is a great way to make a statement.

Di Caprio was never a very good actor but kind of cute, before he grew a beard and began to look like an elderly barrel. Now it is unappealing to watch him.

I've been waiting for a bad day to watch it. Things have been too sunny to warrant masochism.
