In Discussions about AGW and global warming, the most fundamental argument,
is that all the other variables have been accounted for, leaving only CO2.
This sounds plausible on the surface, except we do not know what all the variables are.
Our Climate system clearly contains many overlaying cycles,
Years ago I was researching an application of low frequency constructive interference of sound waves.
The formula for how much energy is in a maxima is basically,
E total = Σ E1 + E 2,
When several cycles of different frequencies interfere, the available energy
Will be integrated into smaller and smaller maxima’s , but the energy in
The maxima’s increase quickly.
E Total = Σ E12 + E 22 + E32…
The El Nino events look like this kind of pattern, but we do not know all the input frequencies.
In looking at the historical temperature, it is possible that much of the observed warming,
is simply long term cycles constructively interfering, with the direct response warming from CO2
thrown on top.
There are many good references on constructive interference, but here is one.

What happens is that with multiple frequencies, the periods where all the inputs come into phase, gets
smaller and smaller, so the energy becomes integrated into a shorter period of time.
