I'll try to keep updating this as storms affect North America and the Atlantic. Right now we have on system out in the deep Atlantic that might go Hurricane, but it's liable to just spin off in the north Atlantic harmlessly.

If I want hurricane updates I stick to the weather underground. They are much better at it than you.

That's nice Ganathapy, you don't have to read these. As I'm just posting the warnings the NHC lists, when there is something worth reporting...

Whose we? Got a mouse in your pocket, Ganathapy?

/shrug A man whose only friend is a "talking dog"...

Anyway, there is nothing on the 5 day, and after looking at the longer range modeling I won't be shocked if Aug is a dead month as well.

Your metrological reports will be very entertaining. I'm especially interested in your knowledge of long range modeling..

Hey did you hear about that flood in Louisiana? Apparently it rained a lot there.

I spent 10 years in the Navy as a AG. The last 4 of which as a Forecast Duty Officer. I stay current as I can on changes to the field, I have access to most of the modeling sites and tools I did Active Duty. I can read a Skew-T at a glance. Can you?

Any other dumb questions?

Dude, move along. The forum has rules against trolling and what is referred to as DBAJ. Check it out

What is your favorite color and wrt to toilet paper? Over or under?

Seriously you are very entertaining I look forward to your tropical updates. Have you considered applying your appreciable insight at weather underground?

Royal Purple. Over Front.

I post when it is worth posting on the alerts, I won't waste threads of "5 day outlook blank"

I love Wunderground. BEST radar on the web IMHO, and I visit the WU site daily, frequently at times.

Hmmm perhaps I was quick to call the Atlantic dead for August. the same system moving Fiona extra tropical is pulling the area clear for more development. This could get interesting!

Here is to hoping Fiona investigation 99 north with it.

Fiona really cleared the path. I'm going to root for that Southern track to pan out, something to steam roll into a system that hits eventually south of Corpus Christi and then rotates around San aNtonio. Massive stormage!!! Seriously though, it will fill the damn Aquifer up. It's also that "perfect storm" path for us to get drenched.

If you're on the Eastern seaboard, might start keeping your eyes on these potential systems. I'm still not sold that they are going anywhere. For a bit things looked exciting but the models gone muddy again. Still enough energy could make it's way by late weekend or so to cause some hiccups.

Hurricanes always bear watching, For up to a cat 3, I shelter in place. Above that I look for options.
Some of the bad early storms have spun up in a hurry, but most give good warning.

Yep. It's been so long since we've had a good one I'm worried people aren't going to take it seriously.

That reminds me, I need to test my generator.
People up North have blizzard kits, On the Gulf, it is good to have a hurricane kit.
Enough power for a TV, room AC, and refrigerator.

Last I heard, we had a choice which thread to involve ourselves in. Some are interesting, some not so much.
For those of us who care about discussing Hurricanes, it is a bit cumbersome to sort out posts first.

when will the NWS have a good enough puter to model as well as the europeans do?
