Al Gore Compares His Climate Mission to Jackie Robinson

Looks to me like Al Gore did exactly that.

Of course it looks that way to you, since you're a denier who has never seen a chance to take the Reductio Ad Gore route that you didn't gleefully jump all over.

1. Gore wasn't the person who brought Robinson into the conversation. The interviewer did.
2. At no point did he compare his and Robinson's experience except to illustrate a very common trope using the interviewer's example -- that people who don't want to hear the message will resort to attacking the messenger. The fact that the blog you cribbed this from actually wrote the blazingly dishonest headline and summary of the interview proves that Gore was right.

More lies from Jack Hays.

The interviewer made the comparison and Gore went with it. His words, not mine. They speak for themselves. If you're going to swing this wildly I suggest you pick a better case.

So because Gore did not specifically state a comparison that he didn't make was invalid, that means he made the comparison, right?

How utterly laughable. But, I guess when you have no other argument than ALGORE, this is the kind of stupid **** we expect from the denier crowd.

You are shamelessly dishonest.

Of course I disagree. But it doesn't matter. I don't find you credible in discerning honesty or dishonesty.

That's nice. I don't find you credible, on any subject.

Al Gore is still alive then....

Good to know.

Greetings, Buzz. :2wave:

Nah, I don't think so! Also, I was referring to his lavish lifestyle, not his personal girth...

Greetings, polgara. :2wave:

Did you read the snopes article I linked to?

Gore's improvements cut the home's summer electrical consumption by 11 percent compared with a year ago, according to utility records reviewed by The Associated Press. Most Nashville homes used 20 percent to 30 percent more electricity during the same period because of a record heat wave.

https://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/07...riminal-activities-in-carbon-trading-markets/

In 2009, Al Gore obfuscated and downplayed the role that CEOs played in crafting his Cap-and-Trade CO2 trading scheme and carbon swapping system. Gore failed to put a lid on his Congressional committee testimony about the global warming, carbon-tax debate — the derivatives bubble in the then emerging green-energy credit-swap.
Gore had good reason to be less than forthcoming. Despite his testimony, Enron’s Ken Lay played a large role in developing the plan.
Chris Horner, now a Senior Legal Fellow for the Energy and Environment Legal Institute, was Director of Federal Government Relations for Enron when Gore testified.
With Enron’s implosion two years later, any thought about the energy giant becoming involved in the carbon-tax market vaporized.
The fraud has since been pulled off to a greater degree by many of Kenneth Lay’s proteges. . . . .

And you think this proves.... what exactly?? That Al Gore is a big polluter??

There's no real reason for such hostility, and I'm certainly willing to dial down if you are. In this particular case, I obviously find the OP characterization more accurate than you do. That's why it's a debate forum. I don't think allegations of dishonesty need to be the first response.

"Al Gore Compares His Climate Mission to Jackie Robinson"

Poor comparison. Jackie Robinson was unquestionably successful at what he did.

You are shamelessly dishonest.

We are in deep Black Knight territory.

The defense of an obviously false claim will never stop.
