Mark Steyn Tries (again) to Push the Mann Trial Forward

What has Jack to do with this?

You misunderstand.

I mean, Jack might also be smarmy, but I was referring to Steyn.

And it’s the stuff Jack is linking to that I’m saying is hugely misleading.

I see that critical thinking skills aren’t a part of your intellectual toolbox. Pity.

Often in court cases you know that you are going to win or loose.

If you think you are going o loose you drag the process out for as long as possible because it might just go away.

When a large component of your case was going to be all the rest of the scientific community coming along and saying how you had t 100% right and the other guy was totally out of order and they all, yes all, of them tell your layers that they are on the opposite side of the argument, you start to get a message.

So you think the guy who is actually suing for damages ‘knows’ he will lose and is stretching the case out as long as possible.

‘Bonkers’ is the first word that comes to mind.

In case you had not noticed that is the whole point of the thread and the case.

Greetings, Jack. :2wave:

Six years to judge a defamation case is unbelievable! How is this possible in our country?

Sit down and have a little think, Polgara.

In who’s interests is it to delay the progress of a defamation suit as long as possible?

The defendant, Steyn, has sought to expedite proceedings. The plaintiff, Mann, has maneuvered for delay. Why? Because knows he'll be crushed in court.

[h=1]Mann vs. Steyn likely to head to Supreme Court[/h]Mark Steyn writes on his webpage: There was some modest activity yesterday in the Mann vs Steyn climate-change hockey-stick case, which will shortly be entering its eighth year. As that ludicrous fact testifies, it has been procedurally bollocksed by the District of Columbia courts, which is why it will almost certainly be headed to the Supreme Court. When…

LOL.

I bet the defendant says that in every case they know will lose in the next round.

Sure. That's why Steyn, the defendant, has been trying to push the case forward. And why Mann, the plaintiff, has been stalling. Steyn wants Mann in court.

[h=1]Mann’s media buddies leave him high and dry – oppose his lawsuit[/h]24 Media Organizations Oppose Defamation Suit Waged by Climate Scientist BY WILLIAM PATRICK Twenty-four media organizations, including The Washington Post, NBC Universal, and Fox News, have sided with the conservative National Review and free market-leaning Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) over a defamation lawsuit brought by a leading climate scientist. [h=1]Supreme Court Asked To Hear Case Involving Leaked ‘Climategate’ Emails[/h]From The Daily Caller Michael Bastasch | Energy Editor A D.C.-based libertarian think tank petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to rule on a years-long defamation case involving leaked emails from climate scientists that seriously undermined the credibility of alarming global warming predictions. No one actually cares about what a anti-science propaganda outlet thinks abut this.

What happens when the court finds that Mann has obstructed the process of discovery in order to cover his deliberate fraudulent twisting of the data?

This looks like fun.

[h=1]At Sea, with Steyn, McIntyre, and McKittrick[/h]Well, now that I’ve boarded, and there were no extinction rebellion/climate protestors at the dock in Vancouver (a hotbed of climate activism) to shout hateful messages at us, (which wouldn’t go over well with the cruise line at all) I can tell you about it. I’m on a week long cruise to Alaska with Mark…

The noose tightens.

Getting Expensive for Mann

Michael Mann has lost a motion in the DC Superior Court. He will now be responsible for the majority of legal costs for discovery in his perpetual libel suits against Steyn and the National Review.

It sure looks like Mann's fragile ego, is going to cost him lots of money.
