Zombie shopping malls, what are your experiences?

Mohawk Mall opened in 1970 with anchor stores such as Flah's. The Boston Store and JM Field's.

It's now flattened and replaced by a Price Chopper. Cest la vie.
 
Seems to me the decline of malls in America is because of Walmart- they push people to shop in their one big store instead of a bunch of little ones. Also online retailers like Amazon.

The 3rd world country Im living in is actually building huge mega malls like there's no tomorrow. Locals love the malling experience here.

Which country?

I visited Chile last summer and while It’s not a third world country it’s the same thing, although I’ve noted malls are common in urban areas and are the same as “mercado centrals” in rural areas. Also fewer own cars and so urban malls work because there’s no big Walmart outside city limits to drive to
