What can be done about the cost of living?

. Breaking up some of the larger companies is among one thing that could have been done to actually lower prices in medicine.

lower prices come from competition which liberal socialism opposes. You get competition in health care by making it legal again like it was before liberals made it illegal under McCarran Furguson in 1946

Solving simple poverty through compensation for capitalism's natural rate of unemployment, is market friendly; what part of that, does the whole and entire, right wing, not get?
