re: the national debt: Picture this

Re: the national debt: Picture this

I am a fiscal conservative. This is the primary driver that caused me to leave the GOP back in 2003 and not vote for a republican since. I will tell you though that its hard to not just throw your hands up in the air and say screw it...spend like drunk monkeys...since thats where we are headed anyway, why bother with restraint. We might as well get something out of it. Pay off everyones student loans. Pay off everyones mortgage. Kick that can down the road a good 30-40 years....

You represent a creature that has gone extinct in Washington DC.

you made a huge huge mistake. Republicans introduced 30 balanced Budget Amendments and all were killed by Democrats. Republicans had the power because there were enough people who joined the party and supported it. By leaving the party you did the opposite necessary to get more BBA's until one passes. Do you understand?

Democrats know better than to tie their penis off with a sock in the middle of a big piss.

If you want a balanced budget Amendment, you balance the budget, then pass the Amendment.

You are fooling yourself if you think the GOP is any more fiscally conservative as a party than the democrats. there may well be INDIVIDUALS...bu the GOP spends as rampantly as does the democrats.

Republicans have introduced 30 Balanced Budget Amendments and all were killed by Democrats. Trump just gave us a huge tax cut!!! 100% of the energy for fiscal and monetary responsibility is in the Republican Party. Democrats don't even pretend to be responsible. Now do you understand?

Republicans don't care about the sequence and shouldn't as long as it is illegal to run deficits.

Clinton was responsible, but this was a long time ago.

I'm sorry the Republicans had to stop Obama, if we had spent a little money in the beginning there would have been a recovery.

Republicans want to cut entitlements, this is not cutting Government.

There is only one way out of this and this is to cut your medical and military spending in half.

Then you'll have enough money to pay the debt in 130 years.

no he wasn't at all. Republicans had taken over Congress for time in 40 years and they forced him to betray his party, to lie and say " the era of big govt is over." The Clintons are libcommie all the way.

wrong govt spending would have made things worse by creating a bubble. Do you understand?

Of course it is. libcommie entitlements continuously cripple more people and continuously make more people dependent on ever growing libcommie govt.

cutting in half would pay debt in 20 years, switching to Republican capitalist health care would leave enough to pay debt in 6 years

Re: the national debt: Picture this

A hundred dollar bill weighs one gram. (just a factoid I got from the internet.)

Therefore, a thousand of them weigh a kilogram, and a million weigh a metric ton, and are worth 100 million dollars. A billion dollars would be ten times as much, or ten tons, and a trillion would be ten thousand tons. Multiply that by 20, the current national debt, and you have 200,000 tons of hundred dollar bills.

Now, let's divide those bills up and load them into half ton pick ups. That would require 400,000 pick ups.

A Ford F 150 is 209.3 inches long, not including the trailer hitch and/or maxi cab. Let's say, about 18 feet for the average half ton. I'm not sure whether Chevy's are longer or not.

Now, the Highway patrol recommends at least one car length of distance behind the car ahead for every ten miles per hour, so a row of pickups driving the freeway at 70 mph. would require 8 x 18, or 144 feet of space for each one. Multiply that by 400,000 and the line of pickups, each hauling a half ton of hundred dollar bills would stretch for 57,600,000 feet or just over 10,909 miles.

There you have it. The national debt is the equivalent of a line of half ton pickups, each loaded with hundred dollar bills, stretching for over 10,000 miles.

Are there even any freeways that long anywhere in the world?
Yea but just imagine the cost of repairing all those fords carrying the payload. Might as well just get the Chevy trucks. Might be more up front but less money in the long run.

Clinton vetoed the fiscally irresponsible budget closing Government, can you tell me truthfully who was in power?

I'll have to check later to see if you're lying.

How can you see bubble there when you cannot see a bubble from the recent diverse giveaway.

Of course it is. libcommie entitlements continuously cripple more people and continuously make more people dependent on ever growing libcommie govt.

No, people earned those benefits, Congress should cut their own pensions as well and even me at the bottom can loose some too if you're cutting everybody.

cutting in half would pay debt in 20 years, switching to Republican capitalist health care would leave enough to pay debt in 6 years

No, with unfunded liabilities it will take you 130 years.

House was in Republican control for first time in 40 years so Newt was able to make Clinton lie and say "era of big govt is over"
and end "welfare as we know it." Bill and Hillary are big govt tax and spend liberals all the way!!

Wrong, Clinton vetoed the budget of his own party because it was fiscally irresponsible and the Parties were working together back then so this fiscal responsibility continued when the Republicans took control.

You're arguments are biased.

no idea what you are trying to say

You don't see a bubble by all this debt we now have to finance to make ends meet putting a strain on the lending pool?

Clinton vetoed because he sensed there was a conservative wave led by Newt that would bury him. No Democrats then or now supports a Balanced Budget Amendment, not even Bill CLinton.
