Is Finland’s basic universal income a solution to automation, fewer jobs?

wrong of course govt stimulus spending is supposed to help from the starting baseline. Their bridge infrastructure stimulus failed just like our housing stimulus failed in 2007!! Now do you understand??

It's a bandage over a much more intractable demographic problem. Again, the problem with Japan isn't the spending (one of the few things keeping it afloat, albeit temporarily), it's the demographics: ratio of young to old and population trajectory.

so whats your best example????? I wonder why you forgot to present it to make your point really clear?? Too busy parroting the liberal media to know you've been brainwashed

Missed this earlier.

For a start, here's a list that's been compiled per the Trump administration: Here Is The List Of Donald Trump's "Priority" Infrastructure Projects | Zero Hedge

But there's plenty of others. Bridge and road maintenance and repair (America's basic infrastructure is in a terrible state: https://www.roadsbridges.com/roadsbridges-us-dot-releases-table-ranking-road-bridge-conditions-state )

High speed trains/maglevs and fiber optic expansion in general (the US has some of the worst internet of any first world country) are attractive projects; desalinization plants in California and other agricultural intensive coastal states, power grid and generation improvements (investments in nuclear, and cost-effective solar farms in desert regions like Nevada), port modernization, water and sewage system improvements and test funding throughout countless towns and cities, some of which have degraded to literally toxic levels of disrepair per Flint, LA and elsewhere: Reuters Investigates: Lead?s hidden toll is felt across L.A. | https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...posed-to-poisoned-or-untested-water/94071732/ .

no it just means less money for everyone else to pay for non-working people.

when people first arrived to this country the motto was work or starve.
since then it has become don't work and live off the labor of others.

You mean I'm ok, screw the rest?
As a filthy rich corporate trumpie. I'm all for screw the uneducated. They will continue to follow

James knows everything except the def of liberal. No Latin in college I guess

Is Finland’s basic universal income a solution to automation, fewer jobs and lower wages?

I am 100% for it! The basic income should be about 40% of average income.

No it means work or don't eat. There is a difference between can't work and won't work.
with 50m or so jobs available on this country finding work should not be difficult no matter what you are skilled in.

Too many people are demanding other people pay for their stuff than be self sufficient.
but as they say it is easy to spend someone else's money.

when it is your money then the attitude changes.

For second time!!!!!!!!so whats your best example????? I wonder why you forgot to present it to make your point really clear?? Too busy parroting the liberal media to know you've been brainwashed

People should not be forced to work. Both Communism and Capitalism forces people to work.

Capitalism does not force people to work. In theory you can elect to not work and to starve to death

Most communist countries had a parasite tax to encourage everyone to contribute to the common good!

I'm curious as to why the single most pressing example matters when the point is that there's a _lot_ of important and productive work to be done; more than enough to absorb any excess labour without doing the equivalent of digging/filling ditches.

People should not be forced to work. Both Communism and Capitalism forces people to work.

People are forced by circumstance to "work for a living". A living being a roof over your head and food to eat.

All the rest is mostly superfluous, but the mechanism of the market-economy also "tells" people what they should be buying. Anyone gullible enough to believe that crapola nonsense in a TV commercial deserves is playing the age-old Social Game called "Keeping up with the Joneses".

And economic theory does not say much about such motivations ...

it matters because your inability to provide it shows that infrastructure spending is not important or priority. If it was you could name one project that obviously needed to be done immediately!!

the point is that there's a _lot_ of important and productive work to be done;

of course if true you would be able to present your best example of this work. I wonder why you cant? Perhaps you have been brainwashed by liberals who are always looking for any excuse to grow govt and tax us??

superfluous perhaps to you but not to many who want to sell tons of great stuff, like cancer cures and cell phones, so they can buy tons of great stuff like cancer cures and iphones. Its one of the main reasons why we work like dogs and strive to work better and better. A cancer cure, Iphone, and Elon Musk's rockets are superfluous???

That's pretty ridiculous.

Not being able to determine exactly which single infrastructure would prove to be the very best or most immediately needed out of a giant, bulging litany of them that I just presented to you shows that infrastructure spending is neither important or a priority? On what planet? Trump's own list which I linked to you is already brimming with specific and named infrastructure projects.

the age-old Social Game called "Keeping up with the Joneses".

..

yes evolution is age old!! We want to crush the Joneses like Musk Brin Gates Jobs and Bezos do to be the winners of evolution, to stay ahead of the forces that are gaining on us to destroy us, and to receive the acclaim of others for moving our species forward rather than contributing to its stagnation and decline.

a giant, bulging litany of them that projects.

and still after 5 days you cant name even one of the most needed infrastructure projects from this giant bulging litany??? Are the liberals keeping the list a secret from you?? They haven't told you where they are going to start once they steal the money?? Surely they know and it should not be a secret????

You wanted the most; the most is definitely debatable and arguable.

I can definitely name one though; in fact I've already named several.

Repairing, replacing and upgrading plumbing and sewage lines such that they're not brimming with toxic levels of lead and other heavy metals in urban areas seems like a pretty important place to start for me:

https://www.scientificamerican.com/...-afflicted-with-lead-poisoning-beyond-flints/

33 Cities Across US Have Lead Contaminated Water Like Flint, Michigan

As for a specific city, dunno, it depends on the extent of the toxicity, number of people affected, and full extent of lead/degraded pipe distribution.

got it, so you know it has to be done, you've read all about it but you cant give us even one of the best examples where it is needed, let alone the best example that needs to start immediately???? Why do you think its such a secret???

...

Are you serious? I linked you several of 'the best' examples in my estimation already. Yes, making drinking water safe by replacing lead/compromised piping is important and needs to start immediately.

where specifically for 25th time!! Do you have any idea?

(pssst, it's nature that requires us to work to live)

didn't ask for several of the best examples just give us one infrastructure project at the top of your list or admit you are afraid to even try!!
