Liberals would destroy Walmart just as Stalin destroyed soviet economy:

Walmart by the numbers:

Revenue $482 Billion
profit $14 Billion
$5 raise $11 billion
profit after raise $ 3 Billion, down from $14 Billion

Cut retail profits by 80% with $5/hour raise and cause another liberal Great Depression tomorrow!! And lets never be tricked, this is but one of 10001 interventions a liberal will want because the liberal will lack the ability to understand capitalism!!

Bull****. A five dollar raise isn't going to cause another Great Depression.

can you say if you have a reason to think that and if so can you tell us what the reason is?

The Beaver: Gee Wally - couldn't they cover that raise if they just raised prices of toilet paper a nickel or so?
Wally: No way Beav. People have to wipe their ass and they have to do it as cheaply as possible even it it means supporting jobs in some foreign country and laying off Americans.
Beaver: How does that help America and American workers Wally?
Wally: it gets then a cleaner ass at the cheapest price.
Beaver: So assess are really important to Wal Mart I guess.
Wally: You bet Beav ... heck if it were not for asses wal mart would go out of business.

Don't you just love how liberals believe business owners don't have the right to set wages? Yeah, apparently workers have a right to accept a wage they find agreeable, but employers don't have the right to set a wage they find agreeable. How nice.

The reason is logic, common sense, and the fact that you've proven that you don't know what the hell you are talking about before.

Workers have a right to fair wage.

Liberals believe there needs to be an equilibrium between business and labor. It only hurts the economy if either side gets too much power over the other.

what is a fair wage and who is supposed to decide that?

What is a fair wage, and isn't equilibrium set by the labor supply for the jobs offered?

Your math is a bit fuzzy. Walmart has just over 2.2 million employees. Multiply that by $5 and you get $11 million not $11 billion.

Yeah, I know. It's interesting then that I don't see more proposals of price ceilings being thrown around. If people can't afford goods then why just intervene on the wages and not also the prices?

Then again, you guys just throw subsidies their way, so I guess that covers that.

If liberals didn't whore out the labor markets with open borders, maybe workers might have some market power.

That would be $11 million per hour, the $11 billion figure was for the whole year

Gee wally why should we pay $15/hr for a job that anyone could do
Well beav then those lower level works will be able to afford a better life.
But wally if everyone has thier wages raised won't the cost of goods raise by an equal amount.
You know beav I never thought of that because I'm a total moron who is completely ignorant of how economics works.

The Waltons are the richest family in America and have devastated local economies with their stores. Meanwhile their employees are treated like and are paid ****. Militant unionism needs a revival in this country like never before. People are going to realize that the people in charge don't have their best interests in mind, Democrat, Republican, Hillary Clinton or Trump. The only person looking out for you, is you, and its time to organize with those who have the same goals and values.

Solidarity forever, for the union makes us strong.

Devastating local economies by providing them jobs since 1962.

A fair wage is a living wage....supply and demand, the basic cost of living and geographical location most likely determines what a living wage might be.

Free market hero, Adam Smith noted that employers often conspire together to keep wages low, and have the upper hand in conflicts between workers and employers:[54]

The interest of the dealers ... in any particular branch of trade or manufactures, is always in some respects different from, and even opposite to, that of the public... [They] have generally an interest to deceive and even to oppress the public ... We rarely hear, it has been said, of the combinations of masters, though frequently of those of workmen. But whoever imagines, upon this account, that masters rarely combine, is as ignorant of the world as of the subject. Masters are always and everywhere in a sort of tacit, but constant and uniform combination, not to raise the wages of labor above their actual rate ... It is not, however, difficult to foresee which of the two parties must, upon all ordinary occasions, have the advantage in the dispute, and force the other into a compliance with their terms.

I would be tempted to speculate that Walmart is the greatest killer of small business this country has ever seen.

Their business plan is based around selling a wide range of cheap goods at cheap prices. We as Americans, loving bargains more than our neighbors, jumped right on that band-wagon. Specialty shops that charged higher prices for more quality goods could not compete with that convenience and price-mark. That is the power of a conglomerate.

So they outmaneuvered their competitors? That's called winning.

Gotcha, thanks. I would prefer that the employer played the entire wage then having it subsidised by the tax payer.

Their self-enrichment has caused millions of people to suffer. That is called injustice.

Then don't support welfare. That was easy.

No, it's called business and beating your competition.
