What unconventional ways have you and your partner done to spice up your relationship? Do you guys think that technology, like say virtual reality or even social media can help bring back the spark and spice up a relationship? If not, what do you think is the best way?

I have few "unconventional ways" of doing things (except being self-employed) and do not understand the need for any added "spice" in our (boyfriend/girlfreind cohabitation) relationship. We rely on and support each other in personal, social and economic matters - we are both in our mid-60s, semi-retired (collect SS retirement) and share roles in running our self-employed handyman business and caring for my 96 year old, incapacitated father. IMHO, the best way to keep a relationship intact is for each partner to feel that everything they do (together or separately) is mutually beneficial.

  • We do the same stuff we did when we were kids; our relationship isn't any "spicier" (or less so) now than it was then. We're just more prudent about where and when we do those things.
    • If you seek a specific practice or technique re: sexual activity, I'd have to say that mine/ours is staying physically fit. I and my lady friends are all physically fit folks; thus our imaginations and strength allow us to indulge lots of "spice" in our relationship.
    • If you seek a more generalized practice/technique re: our relationship in general:
      • We spend enough time apart that we appreciate and revel in one another's company when we are together. We neither allow ourselves to be suffocated nor suffocate one another.
      • My lady friends are independent women who have lives of their own that interest them and that they live and will live regardless of my presence in their lives. The same is so of me.
      • We each continually evolve, experience new things, and share those things with each other, thus constantly bringing something new to the table, as it were. That goes a long way toward keeping the relationship from growing stale.
      • We are intellectually and experientially curious about all sorts of things. Sometimes, something may prick my fancy that doesn't pique my lady's interest, but she goes along with it, finds something positive about it that appeals to her and focuses on that rather than on what she doesn't care for about it. I do the same for regarding my lady's flights of fancy.

    • Why is your question posed with the implicit assumption that folks have but one partner?

Wild sex on trampolines. Syrups and fruit reserves. Ice cream. Read National Geographic together. As a dirty old man I check out younger hot women and come home to make the wife happier. There is no single best way, all ways are fun as long as both are having fun.

I have slutty young slum dwellers teach me new tricks and try them out on my wife. She gets as mad as hell for about a month after I have a new adventure, then she gets curious about what I did. Many Latin women figure out that the best way not to be traded in for a newer model is let their husband experience what a pain in the butt a young, immature chick can be. A dippy young chick is fun for about two weeks, then they get tiresome.

I love this! Especially hearing from someone who is more experienced, and I agree. It's important in a relationship to do everything that will benefit both of you, not just one of you. Because in order for the relationship to work, it should be give and take. Me and my boyfriend does things together too. One is playing VR. I mean, I know it's nothing compared to you and your partner, but I think it's kinda the same?

Sorry, that wasn't my intent.

Wait, there are couples who actually do this? I mean, no judgment here of course because we're all free to do what we want. It's just that I haven't heard someone do this in real life. But, like, why not try VR porn and try it on with your wife? That way she won't be mad coz you learned it from porn not in some young, immature chick, right?

Lots of women in Latin America consider themselves lucky if they have a husband that doesn't beat them up and doesn't drink their whole paycheck. Having a young human pet pales in comparison to the other items mentioned.

I'm amazed the lengths some women will go to not to need to seek employment. That includes the wife and the younger chick that accepts being a sex pet.

Pepper spray is very effective.

On you or her? And where do you spray it?

or;

You do know walking up behind a woman in the parking lot and getting pepper sprayed isn't really a "relationship"?

**** like crazy. Timeless.

63 and 52 isn't time to lay down and whimper yet.
Technology has certainly helped. Pharmaceutical technology. ;)

We've both cut back our other social media use in the last three years.
I'm mostly on here if I'm on, and other than that, business...sometimes both at the same time.

VR ?? Ehhh, you know what? An old movie starring Natalie Wood called "Brainstorm" was maybe one of the first real deep dives into the "proposed" (at that time) world of VR and...well, just watch the clip

We haven't gotten there yet.

PS: That Natalie Wood was some kinda gorgeous...goddamn.

If you can find a good ceiling joist try a swing!

Watching the wife move around in one of my tee shirts with nothing on underneath spices things up for me. Man, when she bends over to fill the dog dish, I go all hound dog myself. Too much information? Not ready for that yet? Well, you asked....

This is probably more conventional but oral sex is always a winner.

That is a mighty hilarious comeback my friend.

Cosplay. I got this whole "Witcher" outfit and she likes "Hello Kitty" so it all works out really well.

I don't have one right now. But dating is all about fun. If you're a gentleman, if you're polite, charming and funny, everything else seems to fall into place.

Relationships, the successful ones are all about communication. The best way to spice up things in the boudoir is to talk about it all day and let the anticipation build. Text her.. tell her where you're going to kiss her and what you're going to do to her. By the time you both get home, foreplay might not even be required :) <-- BUT DO IT ANYWAY!!!

We have our ups and downs, but... we've been together eight or nine years now, and we... do not yet... feel the need for our relationship to be "spicy". It's comfortable and it's familiar and we are (mostly) happy with it.
