10 Things Every Intersectional Feminist Should Ask on a First Date

10 questions to ask on a first date...

1. Got a job?
2. What's the job?
3. House, apt, or your mothers house?
4. Mets or Yankees?
5. Chevy, or Ford?
6. Democrat,nor republican?
7. Are you married?
8. Are you 18?
9. In the event that we have sex later, are you planning on waiting 10-20 years, and then causing me of rape?
10. This is Dutch treat, right?

1. Do you believe that Black Lives Matter?

Yes? Wonderful. Let’s start here. There are three categories that are non-negotiables for me: an understanding of race, class, and gender. Not everyone understands how these three can be insidious, systemic and intertwined, but anyone who doesn’t take the time to learn how systemic racism works isn’t going to care about how racism affects me or people who are darker-skinned than I am.

I don’t want to have to have laborious discussions where I have to prove to someone that white privilege or non-black privilege exists. If they are willing to learn and listen and make the space to decenter their whiteness (if they are white), that’s a good place to start.

So true.

Great article. I only disagree with one part, Israel-Palestine, the premise (such discussions are not for this subforum, so I'll leave it at that).

Ya'll are kinda of heavy for a first date. Start asking crap like that and I'm assuming you are way too high maintenance. Maybe just keep it to food, drink and music for a night?

At Thanksgiving, which table do you sit at?

Excuse me, but where's the question about how I feel about Foucault's Biopower analytical construct and its lack of minority inclusiveness?

Pschaw. Unless she and I can discuss Heidegger's "Sein und Zeit", in German, it's just not happening.

I’m just not dating anyone who hasn’t made the linguistic turn.

You just eliminated yourself from the dating pool by violating the positive principles found in question 10.

10 Things Every Intersectional Feminist Should Ask on a First Date:

I’ll bite.

1. Do you believe that Black Lives Matter? No more, nor less, than any other people's lives do.

2. What are your thoughts on gender and sexual orientation? There are only two genders (Male and Female); the rest is fantasy. However, sexual orientation is biological, not a “choice.”

3. How do you work to dismantle sexism and misogyny in your life? I don’t hate women, I love them. BTW, what are you doing about your misandry (hated of men)? Also, how did women coopt the term sexism, when it’s true definition is discrimination based on sex?

4. What are your thoughts on sex work? As long as everyone is a consenting adult, I’m good with it.

5. Are you a supporter of the BDS movement? No! I support the existence of Israel, and if the Palestinians don’t want to assimilate, they can move to Jordan (or wherever).

6. What is your understanding of settler colonialism and indigenous rights? Settler colonialism is ancient history. Meanwhile, I was born here and that makes me a “native American” now. If you are asking about Amerindians, then they deserve some reparation for the value of the land taken to be invested in developing their current territories. That's about it.

7. Do you think capitalism is exploitative? Sure, since the idea is to make a profit on one’s production/efforts. That means trying to get more value than the labor and materials cost.

8. Can any human be illegal? I guess that depends on the law, which is a human construct. Perhaps you didn’t phrase the question properly? In any case, if you are referring to “illegal Immigrants,” illegal refers to acting illegally by crossing national borders in order to seek/obtain benefits native citizens pay for, or their society created.

9. Do you support Muslim Americans and non-Muslim people from Islamic countries? I accept any American citizen who upholds the law, and respects my rights equally. I am not concerned about Muslims from other countries unless they are trying to kill me and my fellow Americans.

10. Does your allyship include disabled folks? If you mean have I had friends who are disabled? I have.

Sooo...are we going to date or are you going to lecture me on my "racist, sexist, misogynistic, nationalistic, islamophobic, homophobic, cis-gendered," etc., etc., etc.?

Because if you do, I'd rather find someone else to dance with.

I think there's a glaring reason why "everydayfeminism" doesn't allow comments.

You're totally overcomplicating things.

Once she gets to the second question you should know that if everything went 100% your way you'd eventually end up facing unshaved legs and arm pits. It's best to split well before that happens.

The writers at the site know little to nothing about men.

Or let's just go straight to the handshaking and cab-calling. If I want to be vetted I'll go to a border crossing.

Intersectional Feminism? I was unfamiliar with the term. It seems:
If feminism is advocating for women's rights and equality between the sexes, intersectional feminism is the understanding of how women's overlapping identities — including race, class, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation — impact the way they experience oppression and discrimination.

Understanding who's asking the questions might explain the questions.

AWESOME! :bravo: :bravo:

OK. So I saw this article yesterday and brought it to the attention of my secretary. She had a totally different take on what BDS was than the author of the article intended. I won't embarrass her by disclosing her interpretation but it was about 50 shades off the mark.

BDSM...I got it.
PM me her number? Perverted minds think alike.

If you are suggesting that my comment was childish, I have no response to that. I have however been known to sit with the grand kids. They don't have inane conversations about things and a have lot more fun.

Intellectualism is not inane.
