My lady and I have been through it all it seems. We had a venue for our wedding booked since January and last week it burned to the ground. So, I've been scrambling to find a new venue and when I found one they only allowed certain venues (it's hard to find a venue when the wedding is 3 months out) so now I'm having to book a photographer, and a caterer, etc in just three months and money is drying up fast. Anyway, I'm really stressed out about it. Just wanted to vent.

Your avatar is ironic. Just sayin'.

Hire a photography student with a decent DSLR. Unless you're going for something in particular, one photographer is as good as another.

hehe...hang in there. My wife and I got married the weekend of the big black out in 2003. I feel your pain! :) It'll all work out, it's just one day...the real fun begins after.

I have a big traditional wedding going-on in my family right now! And everyone's stressed! Everyone! I think even the dogs sense it!

With all respect, let me suggest this might be a blessing in disguise.

Why?

Have you considered calling the big shebang off, and just doing something smaller, more intimate, and less lavish? Our family vacillated between everything from a small destination immediate family-only wedding, to the traditional and formal several hundred people downtown weekend lavish event it's become. And we're really stressed! With a capital 'S'! And broke, too!

So why not pare the list down to 20-30 immediate family? The others will understand due to the circumstances. Then keep your Church commitment, but then afterwards just take everyone for a long meal at a nice restaurant! That's it!

No muss. No fuss. Save tons of $$$. Use it to buy a house or condo.

Friend: PLEASE give money to DP both because it is a worthy cause and because you have no mailbox left and I want to talk to you. This is what I wanted to say:

Small potatoes my friend.

We are men.

Do you believe in omens?

I say that because we had a car accident on the way to getting our marriage license. We were divorced less than 4 years later.

Just saying.

Be happy it didn't burn when you were using it. It'll all work out.

Spend the money on an exotic honeymoon instead and forget the big traditional wedding?

What you really pay for in the photographer is the editing of the videos

Would you put you money in to an investment that has a 50% chance of failure? 50-50 applies to marriage success. AVOID!
