Kentucky sees drop in cases, indication that ‘mask mandate is working’ | Eyewitness News (WEHT/WTVW)

On Monday, Governor Andy Beshear announced 323 new cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky. This marked the first day of significantly lowered numbers in the past week, an indication that the mask mandate is working according to the data Beshear shared.

"There is reason for optimism because what the numbers are telling us is that face coverings and masks are working," said Beshear.

Masks save lives without impairing the economy. It's time for a national mask mandate.

Now if we could only teach people how to use masks properly.
Clean your hands before putting it on, adjust with clean hands only, don't fiddle and adjust the mask unless your hands are clean, remove mask after you have cleansed your hands.
What's more, do NOT lower your mask so I can understand what you are saying. Just speak up.

Well I’m glad to see the economy being mentioned as a concern, finally.

Why? KY. did fine on its own. Don't you believe in states' rights?

Of course, you don't.

Typical leftists cry the president is overreaching by using his executive powers while getting involved with the states and he's acting like a thoughtless self-serving dictator.
Trump minds his peas and carrots and leaves mandates and decisions to the states and he's a thoughtless self-serving dictator.

Methinks leftists bark out of both sides.

Admittedly I find not playing with the mask is virtually impossible, especially if I’m actually talking with someone for any length of time. The damn thing constantly rides up or down or I can’t see **** from the fog (when I have my glasses on).

Practice at home. I had to wear the darn things t/o my professional career. It isn't easy, but neither are other things worthwhile. Fit it, fit it right, practice. You can do it.

I wear glasses. Make sure you have a good fitting mask with a nose clip that will really hold snug.

The most comfortable mask I have found is the Tommy Copper mask - they had them at Home Depot. I get into the car and forget I have it on. No tugging on the ears. The nose piece holds snug so I do not have the fog issue.

I have the same problem. When it is 90 degrees outside and you walk into an airconditioned building the glasses immediately fog up. When I have to speak a lot the glasses fog up. So I end up having to fiddle with the mask and my glasses. Not only do you have to deal with the mask, you have to deal with being blinded till the glasses defog.

Never happen, trump would be admitting he screwed up, and he will never allow that.

Shockingly, Trump's campaign organization has sent me an E-mail advocating for the wearing of masks.
Basically, a "what can it hurt?" type of message.
Hell may not have frozen over, but it's definitely cooled off.
Qanon heads are now exploding.

This is where I see many of the challenges regarding the wearing of masks. 1) The community isn't being educated on the use of PPE equipment, and are most likely wearing the same mask as they venture out 2) Proper disposal of masks and/or sanitizing of the mask isn't being performed -- a contaminated mask will spread the virus just as quickly 3) the common masks being purchased aren't designed to prevent infectious diseases and 4) how many people practice proper hygiene after returning home (e.g. washing hands, removing potential contaminated clothing/gear, etc.?

Or better yet, be quiet. Most people talk too much anyway.

- a contaminated mask will spread the virus just as quickly

Where are you getting this? If someone has the disease, their mask will be "contaminated" the second they breathe into it. The purpose of wearing a mask is to limit how far moisture droplets can travel when we breathe out. Whether a mask is "contaminated" or not, it's still better than not having one.

Trix throws a temper tantrum because the we want the trump administration to do its job and save lives.

There are ways to keep your glasses from fogging. Typically a light coating of gentle cleaner works. Google "how to keep mask from fogging glasses" for more info.

May I see any evidence whatsoever that you have or anyone else may be in the possession of, that masks resulted in the decline?

A failed attempt at sealioning by someone who believed that this pandemic was "phony" and would disappear by August. :)

Trixaire, I am seriously getting tired of all of them. This poster is a prime example of how easy it is to fool and indoctrinate the masses with a chart implying a cause and an effect. When you look at it what it is saying, you find that it shows false analogies.

The first one is in the premise that testing is the key to anything
The second is that testing continued at the same levels in mid July as it did before that time.
The third is that even if testing DID occur at the same levels, that infection levels would keep going up and up
The fourth is that there is an infinite number of people in Kentucky to test
The fifth is that people who are not currently sick but have traces of it because they had it and beat it will not STILL test positive for COVID
The sixth is that testing positive means anything as many people can have COVID and experience mild or no symptoms

The more disturbing thing is that we have enough idiots in this world to believe a chart like this.

Testing positive doesn't mean CRAP folks. Except that if you DO test positive and are well, you had it and beat and are immune to that strain, just like you would be during flu season.

Sorry, you only get one line in my signature. Even you will have to work hard to get a new quote.

Translated: "No we don't have a stick of what would be called "evidence" by scientists or anyone else really. We post charts and imply things so that stupid people will be indoctrinated and we don't like it when we are called out on it and we whine".

Sadly so.
Don't forget our mailboxes. Who's going from house to house without washing hands in between.
I got a trashcan outside and sanitize the mailbox daily. Just a thought.
Be safe.

You've used that line before. It was used as a smokescreen then to get you out of posting anything of value as it is now.

For that matter PHY251, I can't recall a time when you have posted anything of worth or value to the readers here. Can you?

Paradoxical has nothing of value to add to this thread, so now he resorts to childish insults. Just like clockwork.

Beautiful projection from the person who believed that this "phony" virus would have ended by now. And who is also under the delusion that testing results are meaningless!
