260 employees in Georgia school district have tested positive for Covid-19...

..or been exposed.

260 employees in Georgia school district have tested positive for Covid-19 or been exposed - CNN

Can anyone find in the article where the actual number of positives out of the 260 is stated?

We're being set up to not reopen schools.

CNN said:
"As of last Thursday, we had approximately 260 employees who had been excluded from work due to a positive case or contact with a case," Roach said. "This number is fluid as we continue to have new reports and others who are returning to work," she added.

I'm not sure what you guys are arguing here... are you saying that if a teacher comes in contact with a positive case they should go to school the next morning as if nothing happened?

Can't be positive if you just ignore it!

And not exposing children to a deadly virus to bring home to parents is a bad thing? Reopening schools when rates of infection are surging is the height of insanity-especially when there is no cohesive plan in place for keeping children and teachers safe.

I'm saying that with the push to reopen schools, those who don't want schools to reopen are rolling out the big guns.

Welcome to the **** show here in Georgia, between Trump and Kemp vs. various local governments we will become the model for what *NOT* to do.

What are the big guns? Allowing teachers to take off if they have been in contact with someone who turned up positive?

Seriously, you need to get your message straight. So now, not only am I supposed to send my kid in to a room with 2 or 30 other kids for the good of the nation, but I'm also supposed to be ok with his teacher coming in to that room after she has been recently exposed to someone with the virus?

It's like a conspiracy by a virus causing a global pandemic which kills a ton of old people who are the parents or grand parents of school children.

The school children will be the hosts.

As Dr. Birx said on NBC news last evening, the stuff is everywhere. I just talked to an old friend 83 years old and made a widower last month. He had symptoms but did not require hospitalization. He feels like he is recovering.

Sooner or later herd immunity will take over the whole country, just as it has in certain locations already.

I sincerely wish I could call you out for making stuff up, but that's honest to god the current position of the POTUS. Terrifying.

My Wife's work security guard found out that she tested positive while at work yet no one else became ill despite her being there a week after exposure. Lots of factors to consider but, it's basically a crapshoot.

With proper protocol,, a person could go back to work.

Testing is only captures a moment in time. *Knowing you've been exposed is subjective. By whom, more so.

Red States don't need no stinking protocol.

close the ****ing schools. my wife and kid are on the front lines now, and i'm ****ing pissed. the idiocy began today.

A grim reminder that we need some serious contact tracing.

Even in Russian roulette you have a chance.

False positives do happen you know.

The thing is, this is the kind of scenario schools will have to deal with once they reopen as well. If you have teachers getting sick they will have to be kept home until they're better, so you end up with a resource issue. Then it's a matter of contact tracing to determine if the school is the hot spot or if the teacher(s) got sick elsewhere.

It's not a crap shoot.

They could go back to work in terms of working at a distance from others or working from home. If they have a job in a crowded area, such as a school, they probably shouldn't go back to work.

I honest to god can't believe I'm even having this ****ing discussion. :doh
