In Berlin this weekend are demonstrations of tens of thousands of people who consider Corona insignificant and harmless, see video below. That's really bad, in Berlin the whole human garbage of Germany is generally often gathering together. Here in the province people are not so stupid and disciplined. These people should be deprived of their health insurance protection. And drive them apart with tear gas and water cannons.

People do not wear protective masks either. Such antisociality would not have existed with Adolf. That's bad.

Somehow, I expected better of Germans.

Am disappointed.

“.......too much freedom shows the stupidity of the people.”

That can apply to more than Germany!

I am also amazed at this mass roundup. The politicians probably are too. These protesters are really stupid. It's only thanks to the discipline of the population that we in Germany have made it through the pandemic so far.

I equate virus denier protests with BLM protests. Idiots trying to be relevant but not doing anyone any good. And leaving trash in the streets for other people to clean up.

Good grief, they're pouring out of the subways all crammed together and without masks.

I used to think Germans were smart. :(

Just goes to show that Americans who oppose these kinds of authoritarian government actions are not alone.

I've seen the videos of these protests in Germany. They are not "small," and IMO show that people in the EU are aware that Covid-19, while problematic for some members of society, is not as dangerous as being touted.

That's right. Because like the issues they are protesting now, Hitler was AUTHORITARIAN. He had no problem using the force of government power to arrest, imprison, and even eliminate opposition and "undesirable" elements.

That seems to be not only what the "Authoritarian Left" wishes to occur in the EU, but also here in the USA. :coffeepap:

Eventually the world is going to have to move on, reopen and accept the fact that old people are going to have to drastically alter their lives or face the possibility of dying... like what happens to old people anyway.

These protesters have no respect for the government. It's the government's fault!

We must not forget that the Corona pandemic costs trillions of euros and the citizens must pay for it.

These idiots are actually harming the whole population with their behaviour. Also those people who fall ill with Corona because of it.

With Adolf, these idiots would not have dared to behave like that. Because then they had to expect to be shot. Totalitarianism is sometimes better when the leadership acts intelligently and for the benefit of the community. Like the government of China for the past 20 years. But the problem is to get rid of an incompetent totalitarian government. One would have to combine the best of both systems.

Yes in winter when you can get a vaccination against Corona.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, and thinking you used "Hitler" as some kind of extreme example.

But it appears that you not only agree with his tactics, (and those of Communist China), it also indicates that you are an advocate of authoritarian Socialism.

I am from the USA, and I adhere to the principles of liberty established not only by our Founders, but by all the great thinkers in History.

Those who advocated for the greatest individual freedoms, with the lightest government controls possible needed to maintain citizen's individual rights. As well as to protect such rights from enemy threats both foreign and domestic.

So I can't agree with your ideological positions....nor your ad hominem attacks on fellow citizens who are trying to freely express their disagreements with government exercise of power.

Freedumb, baby, freedumb! :lamo

I see you have a problem with spelling. :naughty

Let me correct that for you.

The term is Freedom.

the quality or state of being free: such as

a: the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action

b: liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another : INDEPENDENCE

c: the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous; freedom from care

d: unrestricted use; gave him the freedom of their home

e: EASE, FACILITY; spoke the language with freedom

f: the quality of being frank, open, or outspoken, answered with freedom
Freedom | Definition of Freedom by Merriam-Webster

Now I understand there are those of you who prefer restraints on thought, speech, viewpoints, personal choices, personal actions not only to prevent ACTUAL harms, but also "intangible" (personal offense) or "possible" (there is a tiny chance I might get sick) ones.

So you are willing to give up all sorts of freedoms (speech, personal choice) in the name of a little security, and thus also willing to use the force of law to compel others to do so too?

Well that leads of course to the old homily (which is supported by all sorts of historical precedents), that those who exchange essential freedoms for a little security end up with neither freedom NOR security.

The more power you give to government to control your freedoms, the more likely to fall under some form of totalitarian government, supported by secret police and informers.

Your attempt at a blanket ad hominem is noted and dismissed. :coffeepap:

Leftists hate freedom and liberty.

I am amused at your childish effort to try to layspain to me figures of speech. Go on, keep embarrassing yourself.

I'm going to put this in the simplest terms I can so that even you can understand it: My right to stay alive exceeds your privilege to do whatever you want. :)

Well that leads of course to the old homily (which is supported by all sorts of historical precedents), that those who exchange essential freedoms for a little security end up with neither freedom NOR security.

People STILL use that Franklin quote out of context?

The idiots in Berlin, too much freedom shows the stupidity of the people

isn't that an impossibility ... like being too healthy or possessing too much money or being too slender?

In any population of millions, there will inevitably be hundreds of thousands of idiots.

Yeah, look at all the ones doing as their told, without asking a single question.

Doing what your told is often the right thing to do, even if you don't agree. It's how we have a civilization instead of anarchy.

Uh huh! People in Nazi Germany did what they were told. So did the folks in the Soviet Union. How'ed that work out?
