Trump's just the symptom of the larger malaise, the larger problem.

The USA has fully transformed itself into the fictional land in "Idiocracy" and we've managed to achieve that dubious distinction five hundred years ahead of time.

The death cult is in full swing with you I see. At current US fatality rates of 33,300 per million cases if 1/3 of the population get Covid 19 like you suggest we will have 3.3 MILLION dead. Is that enough death to satisfy your bloodlust? I suggest you take a long walk on a short pier to show us the way.

Good point. But the GOP are victims of their own strategies. The southern strategy, to the extent that it existed, played on white fears of black advances. Trump’s warning to suburban women, “The Negros are coming!, the Negros are coming!” (if Biden is elected) is same old song with a different beat. The GOP response to demographic change is redistricting with the “surgical precision” to dilute black votes that Obama referenced in his words at John Lewis’s funeral, plus voter ID laws, ending Sunday voting, fairly transparent attempts at suppressing the ballots of unwelcome voters. That may be effective in the short run, but it helps cement the image of the GOP as the party of out of touch white males. Of course, some democrats do their part (“defund the police”) to squander whatever advantage republicans offer them. So your point is valid. Bill Maher interviewed some democratic official and more or less said this, “Trump is unpopular, the economy is in the toilet, how are you gonna blow this?”

It's going to look more than a little alarmist in a week or so when the poster boy of "Trump's casualties", Mr. Gohmert is fully recovered and back to work.

Do you think all Democrats line up blindly behind our leaders like Republicans have done with Trump? That behavior is unAmerican as hell and has made Trump a worse President to boot.

Yes, they absolutely do. Even Biden, who is supposed to be a moderate and the adult in the room, has endorsed the GND explicitly. With Democrats, it's "get in line, or get cancelled."

Biden believes global warming is a problem that needs to be dealt with like most of America and the world. That is not blindly following anyone. It is the consensus of the worlds scientists. Just because he believes in science does not make him a radical. You think the world is wrong and you are right? You think we can burn every ounce of fossil fuel buried in the Earth and not face any consequences?

Don't straw man me. I don't have to agree with the patently absurd GND or the way Democrats suck up to AOC over it to believe that we need to do something about climate change.

You don't need to read an article on some contrarian left-wing website to see if Biden endorses the GND. You can read it right on his campaign website. "Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two basic truths, which are at the core of his plan: (1) the United States urgently needs to embrace greater ambition on an epic scale to meet the scope of this challenge, and (2) our environment and our economy are completely and totally connected."

If Biden's plan is actually "minus the crazy," why would he invoke the name of the very vehicle for that crazy unless he either agreed with it or felt that he had to toe the line.

How many times are you going to spin that out of context? We were warned not to go out and hoard masks because there weren't enough to go around for frontline health care workers at the time.

Oh he does wear one now? Well bless his little heart. He's finally sending the right message although word is he doesn't wear it much off camera.

I agree with what you're saying, but I also think liberals are equally likely to regurgitate whatever they're told without much research or critical thought. I think the information they are fed are more reliable and science based, but I don't necessarily think they are any less lazy.

It's not a liberal thing, I just believe this is true for humans in general. All people, conservatives, liberals and moderates, will likely believe what information sources they've grown up on, and most people will accept a lot of that information without much research or critical thought. I think liberals happen to be on the right side of many issues because they are given information from sources that are more reliable and science based, but I don't view them as inherently superior. They just lucked out based on where they were born and who their parents listened to.
