I'd expect there would be no cruising until 2021 at the earliest. There should be no cruising until there is a big supply of point of care testing that delivers results in 15 minutes. Guests should be tested before boarding. Crew should be quarantined before allowed on the ship. They should only be allowed on after testing negative twice.

This ship is not really a "cruise" ship. It's more of an explorations ship. Even though they had reduced capacity it seems it could be easier for the virus to spread because of the much smaller size of this ship.

A few passengers have tested positive in addition to the 34 crew members. It sounds like they did quarantine international crew. I think this is a combination of you shouldn't be cruising or traveling during a pandemic and the need for more rapid testing. Surprisingly they are still scheduled to cruise again in September.

I don't think this will be a death blow to cruising. There have and will be outbreaks in many other sectors of society that won't be shutting down.

You do understand that Fauci and the WHO are supposed to be the world experts and it certainly isn't their first rodeo.

But as it turns out, they are nothing but charlatans, adjusting their "expertise proclamations" after the fact.

There have been no spikes associated with the protests last I heard.

This would be good news, as it means (mostly) masked outside is not a strong vector for infection, but because it doesn't fit the latest narratives y'all just parrot some "Why aren't you mad at the protesters?!!1" variant.

Who cares if there hasn't been a "spike"? There have been millions of people protesting in large gatherings. They are needlessly spreading some virus for sure. This is exactly what this country does not need right now. The number one priority of this country should be to crush the virus. Social justice can wait for a non pandemic time.

There is zero common sense in the world right now.

I get the masks from my employer, who hands out the valves masks specifically because they don't fog our saftey glasses. Also I don't own a tv and haven't watched MSM in over a decaid.

The CEO of Hertigruten has made a statement admitting several operating mistakes were made. Between the two cruisings the ship stopped at 69 different municipalities along the coast of Norway. Apparently the 4 original crew members weren't thought to be exhibiting C19 like symptoms. It's sounds like maybe the passengers weren't immediately informed although there seems to be confusion about this. It may have been a passenger who started the outbreak. Passengers weren't tested but the crew was tested several times and quarantined prior to disembarkment.

The Paul gauguin cruise ship in Tahiti had a positive 22 year old passenger. These guests were tested but it's unclear when prior to getting on board.

I don't see how there can be cruising now without all passengers and crew being tested with quick result tests.

Cruising is going to be one of the last things to come back after this. In December 2019 we booked a cruise for March 2021 and I'm not at all confident it's still going to happen. I'm not too confident I'm going to get any kind of refund either.
