I Had no idea before this past week that there were so many millions of Americans that cannot afford the required mask needed to stay safe & save lives as well as performing the simplest of tasks of citizenry such as voting.
Shouldn't our government provide all polling places with the required masks needed for our disadvantaged citizenry who cannot afford them if only on that one day of the year, election day ?
I say yes !

Perhaps they should set $20 aside from their stimulus check.

$20 dollars? I bought 4 washable Masks at Wally World for $8 bucks. I bet those that claim they can’t afford them stocked up on junk food with their “free” (no such thing) $1200 of funny money stimulus check.

The reason governors cannot require masks to vote is not a financial reason it is because :

Mandating using masks [for] voters could be the equivalent of imposing new requirements.

The law says : if you’re 18, you’re a citizen, and you’re registered, you get to vote,”

“No one , not even the Governor of a state can say you can’t vote because you don’t have a mask.”

Of course if any person would like to Make masks available to anyone who wants one at a polling place I have no objections and actually think it’s a nice act of kindness to offer them but not require them.

exactly, you close businesses and you need to prove people with what they need to live, you just have to-same with masks

Relieved to hear that this is not a financial issue then .
This makes it a much simpler to fix as well .
Just section off some voting machines with same style plastic barriers they are using in the post office and you have a section for those who do not want to wear a mask while voting . Masked or unmasked voting .
It's all about choice baby .

Who doesn't have an old tshirt they never wear anymore?

Simple solution for polling places to accommodate non-mask wearing not so bright people in voting .
The government is already using these in public spaces .

So you say you would like to vote without having your civil rights infringed upon by a mask requirement ?
I do believe we have the technology to help you .
Step right this way sir !

No sir we would not dare infringe on your civil rights by virtue of a new mask wearing requirement to vote .
Step right this way please !

Paper face filtration masks should have been distributed MONTHLY free of charge to EVERY SINGLE household in the country starting on March 10th and continuing for the duration of the pandemic.
That's what a SMART administration would have done if they wanted to help save lives and save the economy, along with a very intensive educational outreach on the importance of mask wearing.

The educational outreach is equally important as the distribution of the masks themselves.

Where'd you find that info? I bet it's bull****.

While I think it should be that people at this point are expected to wear a mask, they should have some on hand because people can be forgetful. I have certainly left the house and had to go back. In cases of voting where people might have to take off work, you might not get a chance to go twice.

They can afford them just fine. And theres tons of free ones for those who say they cant. Heres a question though. Why not hire all the unemployed younger people who have already have covid to work the polling places, instead of relying on elderly volunteers?

They have invented a new mechanism to deal with the none mask wearing public while at the same time not infringing on their voting rights .
A real breakthrough :

No need for all that , they just recently invented this new technology enabling even the thickest skulled non-mask wearer to vote without their civil rights being violated
Very interesting :

They got this Taco Dude .
Check it out, no mask needed to vote just put all the knuckleheads on the same side of the plastic:

I know you're just rollin and trollin but it is a good point about inequalities getting adequate face masks. At least it's getting better now but aren't we better that it shouldn't have got to that point?

What South Korea Teaches The World About Fighting COVID

In response, the government took full control of the production and distribution of face masks. It halted mask exports and rationed and distributed them through pharmacies so that everyone could obtain a fair and adequate supply.

You might say that kind of government overreach is 'not' American but then remember we have the "Defense Production Act" that does just that and ask yourself why our government did not do that right away and to the extent South Korea did, enabling all citizens to get a fair and adeqaute supply of face masks.

Why can't we be best like other countries and why does anyone who believes "America First" accept anything less than the best?

That’s fine with me. If people can’t be mannerly enough to wear a mask, they can be in their own room to keep their stupidity from literally infecting others.

Plastic shower curtains placed today at some WNY post offices to help prevent spread of COVID 19. Eventually plexiglass will be installed at counters. Employees also wearing face shields and gloves. More info Ch2 News at 5
