Florida had more new cases in 1 day than the entire US did in about 2 months

That's a new record for the most new cases in a single day from any state -- including New York state earlier in the pandemic.

Many of us on DP said in March/April the Red States were going to get hit hard and drag this whole thing out if they didn't start taking it seriously. And now here we are.

The folks in that photo do not look like they're taking anything seriously. I wonder how many will wind up in the over-filled hospitals with COVID-19?

The total death count for those 12,000 new cases (and case means people who tested positive on a test, not people who were suffering symptoms) was 35.

It’s not even flu fatalities

You posted a picture depicting blacks and Cubans on a street in Florida.

You didn’t need to write race, it’s clearly communicated by you.

So you’re saying those blacks and Hispanics need to have police officers step in and force them to wear masks and distance whether they want to or not.

Haven’t you been paying attention to politics lately?

Florida had 120 deaths July 9th. New York had 8. New York (and most Blue States) continue to trend in the right direct while Florida (and mostly Red States) are trending in the wrong direction. Consider a moment how significant that is especially since FL has a smaller population density compared to NY.

Michigan and New York and New Jersey totally failed and many many more people are dead and now there’s a higher number of totally unaffected people who test positive on testing in Florda and the the media is trying to create the whiff of scandal.

They want the whole country locked down until Election Day. They don’t care about the virus.

Oh wow, do we really have to go over again this late in the game on why places like New York and New Jersey got hit as hard as it did by COVID19? Do we really need to go over density of cities, especially cities like NYC? Do we really need to go over again how internationally-connected airports mean more chance of spreading foreign viruses? Do we really need to do this again??

Strawman B.S.

It's the irresponsible governors & citizens in the states that won't wear masks or social distance, that is killing the economy for the rest of us. We had to enact emergency orders to keep those from these areas out of ours, in order to keep ourselves safe and keep our economy safely opening up and and allow us to get our kids into some semblance of school. You got it wrong here, EMNofSeattle.
