30-year-old dies after attending 'COVID party' thinking virus was a 'hoax'

Whatever it takes to score a point for President "Bleach, hydroxychloroquine, UV keister light" Trump.

We have feeders of all types
BOB will not show up when Biden is Inaugurated and will run with, the election was stolen
And heads since 3 Nov. will be working on the mantras.

Those will evolve muck like CT does - they do have an eager audience, they be pliable and all as we have seen day after day

Now the question is, where will their heads be?

Patient is anonymous ... and dead.

People who don't have underlying conditions can die of COVID.

Clark County reports 7th COVID-19 death, 1st without underlying conditions
One in 11 Covid-19 deaths did not involve underlying health conditions, ONS statistics show | London Evening Standard
It's true that people with underlying conditions are far more likely to die, but those without are not safe. I've never understood this talking point anyway. There are millions of people with underlying conditions. Are their deaths less significant because of that? Do they have less impact on the economy?

He has a family.

Still anonymous ...

If a doctor wants to use a dead patient as an example for something, he/she better disclose all relevant information or that finger-wagging is totally moot.

(moot: having little or no practical relevance, typically because the subject is too uncertain to allow a decision)

That's true. He was very very foolish and paid dearly for it. It's still sad. We're all foolish sometimes. I'm always sorry when a young life is snuffed out. I hope, at least, that his death will have a sobering effect on others who think nothing can happen to them and indulge in risky behaviors.

Me like a ton of others are wondering when the US will get a grip on this?

Yes I feel sympathy for the family.

Our parents / grand parents knew what to do with the Spanish Flu, when polio had outbreaks, society separated, closed playgrounds/schools and they would look upon this fiasco with utter disgust

This fellow was just one of far to many that were sold, you are safe by political leaders

May they rot in Hell

Did I dispute that?!? All I did was to question whether the doctor gave us all of the relevant information. Obviously not, and you are upset because you don't have it either. ;)

"Don't go to COVID parties", is finger wagging?

You and I have different ideas about what's relevant. COVID can kill whether or not there is an underlying condition.

The finger-wagging is: "Appleby warned that the virus "doesn't discriminate" and encouraged the public to wear a mask and stay home as much as possible."

Good advice.

He died from Covid 19.
Your issues are what?

Over 138k dead and that is what you come up with.

You have to understand the underlying fear.....WANTING to believe that some 30 year old who died had an underlying condition..............so it doesn't threaten you.

Oh I got that, thanks though.

I knew a guy who had no underlying health conditions and died of a heart attack at 35.

**** happens. Just not in any significant numbers. Like people under 60 dying of COVID.

‘I think I made a mistake’: Man dies after COVID party
A 30-year-old died at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio after attending a so-called COVID party.
"I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax, but it's not."

Those were the final words of a 30-year-old patient who died at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio this week after attending a so-called "COVID party," according to the hospital.

Dr. Jane Appleby, chief medical officer for Methodist Hospital and Methodist Children’s Hospital, said in a recorded statement that the unidentified patient told nurses about the party, which she said is hosted by someone diagnosed with coronavirus.

So sad they listened to the lie that the virus was a hoax. Sad for the family.

People need to smarten up. Many of the new cases are young people now, the virus has apparently mutated to a stronger one that can now affect younger people that have no other health problems.

Please people....take this seriously.

thinning out the gene pool... good.

It's significant to the family of those dying

I heard he had dandruff. You win.

As near as I can tell, if he had an underlying and Barn doesn't, that means she can go out and party. She might get sick, but even if she dies, it's not her fault. This makes no sense to me, but there it is.

Should be none

He told the people attending he had Covid 19.

People who attended made an informed decision

Fair enough on the legal side. But I would still call it moral responsibility even if the other person consented to the risk. The infected party thrower is still knowingly responsible for the deaths of his guests regardless of whether they consented to the risk or not. It was his or her irresponsible decision that directly resulted in the victim's death.

The person throwing the party I am sure is emotionally distraught over it. But he was upfront over it, everyone made an informed decision. The person who died is the one who decided to go to the party and he holds in my opinion 100% of the responsibility. Had the host not informed people of his being infected, then he would hold a good 80% of the responsibility.

The victim is 100% responsible for his own actions, and so is the person who threw a party knowing that they had COVID-19. The victim chose to attend the party, and so has only himself to blame. But the infected person chose to throw the party, and so is at least morally responsible for the consequences of his guests becoming infected.

In other words: He deserves to be emotionally distraught over it, because he killed his friend with his friend's consent. If I warn you that there is a shark swimming in my pool and then invite you over to go swimming and you jump in and get eaten, perhaps I am not legally responsible for your death, but I am morally responsible for it. That you made an informed decision might legally absolve me of liability, but it doesn't absolve me of personal responsibility. I am still the person who intentionally invited to you be killed by a danger I was aware of.
