Adm. Brett Giroir, the Trump-appointed U.S. assistant health secretary who’s been charged with overseeing the nation’s coronavirus testing, said on Meet the Press Sunday that the U.S. is winning the war against coronavirus, seeming to agree with President Donald Trump’s assessment of the coronavirus response while breaking with Dr. Anthony Fauci, who said last week “I don’t think you can say we’re doing great,” adding, “I mean, we’re just not.”

Giroir said Fauci’s views are because “he looks at it from a very narrow public health point of view,” implying Fauci doesn’t necessarily take other factors, like economic impact, into consideration when making recommendations.

There has to be a political reason Trump hasn't fired him yet.

I'm praying he resigns soon. I'm sure his buddy Andrew Cuomo could get him a high-paying position working for the state of New York ;)

New York used science & common sense to pull back from the precipice. The NE states with Dem governors are in much better shape than the red states which are headed for catastrophes.

Trump was correct about the "science" surrounding HCQ, for example. Fauci was dead wrong.

And despite what the liberal media is feeding you, there is no direct correlation between states and counties with strict mask requirements and states and counties with low infection rates. It will only be a matter of time, I think, before this breaks as well

There is a correlation. The stricter the mask requirements, the higher the death rate. 100% predictable - and intentional.

No, but if the number of cases and hospitalizations continue to rise, then people are going to likely curb their activities anyway; unless you're advocating for no reporting on the disease either. We've seen this play out as I described in Sweden as well, and they didn't have mandatory shut downs.

But I'm pretty sure there is a correlation involving mask compliance, though.

It's not about the rules, it's about if people are following them.

That's the problem with manufactured narratives. They never include all of the information or in this case just something that people can repeat that sounds like it supports the idea that masks are ineffective.

True, he is concerned with one issue. The one that it is his job to be concerned with. I wouldn't take evonomuc advice from him anymore than i would take medical advice from a stick broker.

No, that is not correct.

I doubt it's even possible for Florida to catch up with New York. and the Florida and Arizona cases are clearly because of democrats in the cities not breaking up BLM insurrection

No Trump was not 100% correct about HCQ.
Fauci was not dead wrong about HCQ use and what he studies were saying.

I have always said, check and verify what is reported.

He doesn’t need a job. He’s 79 and could have retired long ago. He only stays on because he’s a patriot. Your views are strictly partisan on a subject that should be evidence based.

The reason Trump hasn’t fired him is that first he’s not a political appointee so Trump can’t fire him directly and 67% of Americans trust Fauci because they know he’s not lying to him vs 27% trust Trump because most people know he’s lying about the virus every day. Trump too stupid and lazy to figure out how to handle the virus but he’s not stupid enough to piss off 67% of Americans.
