that's something else i've been preaching for years.



and if you look at how he couldn't cut it in college and how many times he was fired in radio and that he had to move back in with his parents and sell ads and that he eventually followed Morton Downey Jr (on some radio show) it all makes sense. He learned that hate sells. HE DID IT ALL FOR THE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Of course-and it'll all be forgotten by August according to Paradoxical. Somehow I can't bring myself to share his optimism.
 
I don't think most people - this poor fellow included - understand how this virus works in the body. Even if you recover, or have a mild case, it is affecting you - and you are contagious to those around you. One of the primary symptoms, in even mild cases, is low oxygenation. We have two oximeters in our house, because my wife is compromised. Low blood oxygen, or hypoxemia, is harmful in so many ways it is hard to catalog. The short form is, you are slowly suffocating. In COVID patients it is usually the result of ARDS - Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome - "when fluid builds up in the tiny, elastic air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs. The fluid keeps your lungs from filling with enough air, which means less oxygen reaches your bloodstream. This deprives your organs of the oxygen they need to function." Translation: you are drowning in your own bodily fluids.

I don't know how many people here have nearly drowned. I have. It is the most terrifying feeling in the world. People in ARDS have that feeling over a prolonged period. It, alone, can cause PTSD - or in the hospital setting, "PICS" - Post-intensive care syndrome.
According to the Society of Critical Care Medicine, PICS affects:

33 percent of all patients on ventilators
up to 50 percent of patients who stay in the ICU for at least one week
50 percent of patients admitted with sepsis (like me)
Symptoms of PICS include:

muscle weakness and balance issues
cognitive issues and memory loss
anxiety
depression
nightmares

How did that closing work out? Could we be any worse off if he let in Chinese as well as the Americans coming from China that were allowed in without even a question? I seriously doubt it was of any help at all. Trump has done nothing but make the pandemic worse.

The problem was China which most likely could have stopped this in November and for sure in December chose to let the virus spread to most countries in the world by January.
By early January it was already too late. It was just a matter of time for the cases to emerge.

And all the while Trump was saying all was well when it wasn't and delaying the private sectors tests from being distributed when we needed the most. Because testing would increase the numbers

We still don't have enough tests. Plus the few people tested and found positive were used by our democrat governor to clear out the nursing homes in my state. I guess that is one way to reduce taxes just kill off the elderly and blame Trump.
